Okay, so...I have NO idea how I ended up on this tag-list but I‘m utterly honored and touched TT~TT! Love you @faytelumos! (I‘m still laying in wait for KTE Part 3 btw - Muahahahahaaa)
Guess I‘ll give this game a try then ^^´
What motivates you to write?
Oh dear - honestly, it‘s less a motivation than some sort of...itch? I‘ve always had stories in my head and my mind just keeps nurturing them, growing them until my head looses track of every little detail. These stories keep playing in my head and they won‘t leave me alone until I tell them. And since I suck terribly at telling stories verbally, the only way out is to type them down.
Also, I noticed later on that telling these stories helps me process deeply rooted issues and I learn allot about myself that I didn‘t even know until I reread what I‘ve written and analyze it. So, I guess it‘s some sort of self-discovery too.
Ah, and one more thing - I keep getting annoyed because I often look for a specific type of book, with a specific setting and a specific type of protagonist and so on - not being able to find anything in the bookstore. So, out of pure spite, I want to write that book I couldn‘t find, in hope someone else wanted to read something like that and maybe, they‘ll read it one day.
2. A line/short snippet of your writing that you are most proud of; if not, share a line of someone else's work that you love (just be sure to credit).
Hmmm...I can‘t think of any lines I've written myself that I would specifically like. I have allot of lines I like from other people though. For instance:
“You are not pathetic. Your loneliness is self-imposed because you’ve allowed your fear to rule your life. It has nothing to do with your worth to other people.“ (Mutually Assured Destruction Part 9 by @arealphrooblem)
3. Which OC makes you smile every time you think/talk about them and what are they like?
There‘s a side-character in my current novel who is a Russian. And I think he‘s just so lovable, in a rough around the edges, crude and yet motherly way. It‘s allot of fun to write him and he brings life to every scene he‘s involved in.
4. What process of writing do you enjoy the most?
Writing my favourite scenes, after having to wait for them for about half of my damn novel! When they turn out exactly like I envisioned them (which is rare), but I love it nonetheless. Also, discovering new scenes I didn‘t plan out during plotting, who turn out surprisingly nice. It‘s like receiving a surprise present xD
5. What part of writing do you think you're best at? (Stroke your own ego, it's okay.)
For some suspicious reason, I think I‘m good at writing people the reader will absolutely loathe. Those unlovable a******* who pick on the main character or betray them...Should I be worried?!
6. What is something in the writeblr community that is most enjoyable?
People fangirling/fanboying over stuff they enjoy, the incoherent and slightly unhinged comments and the no-strings-attached support for each other. I think it‘s lovely! I love myself some adorable weirdos :3
7. A writing tool/device that help you with writing (i.e. text to speech, a program, etc.).
Actually, I only use WPS-Office (on my computer as well as on my phone) and DeepL, because I write in a different language than what I publish my work in to some extend.
8. A piece of world-building that you like in your own story (it could be the magic system, a particular place, a law, etc.).
In my first novel, I designed some sort of flying mount that resembles a dragon, but like...smaller? More domesticated? Anyway, I‘d KILL to have one of those! :D They also have feathers (on their back, yes, but more importantly, like a crest around their head/neck which moves according to mood) despite being reptiles. I like how they have lots of different colors too!
9. What piece of advice would you give to encourage others to write if they are having a rough patch?
The scene is allowed to absolutely SUCK the first time you write it! Use prompts for all I care. Skip it until later if you don‘t feel like it (it‘s advised to not do the latter EVERY time it happens, otherwise you‘ll find yourself at the end of your book with a document full of empty pages, but you get the point). It doesn‘t have to be good the first time. You‘ll DEFINITELY come up with a better way to word/write it later on. Just keep going with the next scene if it troubles you that much.
10. Tag some people whose works you love/have been your biggest supporters.
None of these are obligatory! Some of you probably have already done this anyway - but I need to mention you guys!
Of course, @faytelumos who tagged me in this to begin with.
@arealphrooblem - The one and only *~*
@shady-tavern - Your highness!
@surplus-of-sarcasm - Honeeeeeeeyyyyyy!
@zillobeastrevival - I see you under...like...EVERY of my posts. It doesn‘t go unnoticed <3
