If BoC has taught us anything about Takumi, it's that he works well with a 'Shinigami-like' figure to touch base and body-double with. He's so much more confident and motivated when she's there, he has it in him to stand up for himself and others when he otherwise struggles. (Sounds a bit like Karua in his memories, huh...)

I don’t really get this notion that Yuma is ‘just another DR protagonist’. For starters, he’s the only one in his group with amnesia and that’s a big part of the insecurities this time around- it’s identity issues, not just ‘normie who doesn’t belong with the rest of the group’. Obviously he hits some very similar beats, particularly to Hajime, but he handles in a different way to the DR folks in that he’s more uneasy about who he is, and he’s that much more dissonant over it

To put it in perspective, who knows how much memory he lost when he doesn’t even know how old he is much less anything to do with talent or objectives. Functionally, Yuma’s situation is the furthest from normal we’ve had so far, in a way that adds another dimension to the archetype

I've redone my tiers~ Yuma being the comfort character and overall curiosity he is got promoted to the top, Shinigami next to him because they're a package deal and also she's too much fun because of and in spite of her nonsense, Vivia by invoking so much mystery-aura while being unimaginably fucking cool along with it is next, and Makoto got promoted from A due to his inability to leave my mind and the rerun giving me more fuel for him

Others have been shuffled around a bit on their tier mostly- and I still very much love Halara but my top four are particulars ;w;
