Amsterdam in spring: an explosion of colors and scents. Spring is without a doubt the most magical season in Amsterdam. Mild temperatures, longer days and blooming trees make this city an ideal destination for nature lovers. But it is especially the tulip blooms that attract tourists from all over the world.
Indeed, Amsterdam is famous for its colorful and fragrant tulip fields. The fields of Lisse, located a few kilometers from the city, are particularly impressive. More than a million tourists come to Amsterdam in the spring to admire these fields, taking pictures and enjoying their beauty.
But Amsterdam is full of other treasures to discover in spring. The city's gardens, such as the Keukenhof and the Hortus Botanicus, offer a unique floral experience. The Keukenhof is a 32-hectare park of gardens, lakes and greenhouses, with over 7 million tulip bulbs. The Hortus Botanicus is a 17th century botanical garden with over 4,000 different plants, including an impressive collection of tropical plants and cacti.
Art and history lovers will not be left out either. The Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum are two Amsterdam must-sees, offering a glimpse of the city's cultural treasures. The canals of Amsterdam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are also not to be missed. A boat trip will allow you to discover the city from another angle and admire the historical buildings.
Finally, it is impossible to visit Amsterdam without exploring the local neighborhoods. The cobblestone streets and narrow canals of De Pijp offer an authentic and colorful experience. The Jordaan district is also a must-see, with its cozy cafes, independent stores and local markets.
