Today for national coming out day, I decided to come out to my mom as ace. I got a very unexpected response
"So is your sister"
(I already knew that part - I knew she was ace before I knew I was ace)
At first I thought she might not have known what it meant but when I asked she said an ace person is someone who just likes being friends with people instead of being in a relationship. That's not a totally accurate definition but for the sake of her own understanding, that's pretty good and that means I don't have to come out as aro on top of that
Did not expect it to go that well, especially since my dad said I'd "meet the right person" when I told him last year
But now my sister knows what it means too so there's a double coming out for everyone here too haha
