#tags problem

So I’m trying to make a conscious effort of writing about my opinions more on here and just getting things out that are on my mind (to do with Ballum and eastenders mainly) as I really don’t have anyone else to talk about things like this with... (or just tumblr in general) which is why I’m writing today...

I feel really dishearten at the moment and this isn’t anyone’s actual fault (just Tumblrs!) and I’m probably just being extra emotional but it’s making me so cross that me and I know other people who spend a lot of time making gifs/writing and nothing appearing in the tags resulting in no notes...

I posted a set last night (and I know it was a very busy time in the #Ballum tag and I understand that it may have not appeared for that reason) but 24hrs later and it still hasn’t appeared (even after reposting and reblogging) which has resulted in no notes at all... and I understand that that it tumblrs fault but it’s made me really underestimate my ability and made me wonder what’s the point? Specially as there is a Ballum fan account which I believe could be posting stolen gifs and is literally bombarding the tag.....

Like I said before (this could just be me making it more than it is) but it’s something that I feel quite strongly about and I wish Tumblr would at least try and sort the problem out or give me an actual reason why certain posts are not appearing as for me this is my safe place, it’s somewhere I can communicate with other fans and appreciate and take inspiration for others and obviously post my own work and to have 600+ followers and no notes in 24hours is just really disheartening

Whilst writing this I’ve made a decision and although it may take a while I will be checking people’s blogs to see if they’re posted anything new as often as I can as I don’t want anyone else to feel how I do... that being said I’m also going to start reblogging too (it’s something I’ve wanted to do for ages but being stuck in a habit of only posting my own stuff it’s hard to get out off!)

If you’ve read this far thank you 😊 (I didn’t mean to write quite as much as I have!) but I just felt like i need to tell someone to get it out of my stm! and I’m also hoping people dont mind me sharing my opinions more on here..????

New blog tag problems

so, I wanted to clear out some things for new writing blogs whose posts aren’t showing up in the tags

this is a guide that worked for me and I am not 100 % sure if it works for anybody else

make sure you checked all other possible reasons before

Follow the instructions tumblr is giving for tagging posts

Follow 100 blogs

Like 100 posts

Post 200 times (I mainly reblogged but maybe it’s good to post original gibberish, too)

-> this is a guide other people recommended

after doing all these things I regularly posted to check if my tags worked & I was devastated when they still didn’t

I gave up at this point not knowing what to do anymore and just decided to wait

I interacted with other blogs (commented, sent asks and reblogged posts with comments)

magically I received one like on a post & gained one follower

after exactly 7 days (1 week) I checked my tags a few times at the same day and then it happened! my test post appeared in the tags!

If you intend to make a new blog be aware it needs some time to be made sure you aren’t a bot!

Comment under this post if you have/had the same problems. I want to know if this guide works for anyone!

(I am still unsure if you can take back the follows and likes & delete the reblogged posts of your blog without losing your tag privilege)

tumblr is seriously pissing me off lately. in addition to the notes mess is anyone else having tag problems? some of my posts won’t show up in search results, ugh

Tumblr tags not working

Sooo no one is gonna see this bc they don't work, but I every time I post and tag something the posts don't show up when I search for the tag. And when I waIt a few days, the tags I posted the picture with have disappeared. If anyone could help me with this I would be so grateful cause I'm so confused right now! ♡

I think the new iOS update has fixed the Apple/tags problem? I had to go into settings and say don’t hide “sensitive” content. The default for iOS apps now is to automatically hide it but now you can undo that.

Only because I've added some link to my shop in my last post, I noticed that my post didn't show when you search "royai", "royaiweek20" and similar tags on Tumblr... uff, it's so frustrating 🙄
