It’s nothing unusual for Taigan Park to pimp it’s lions out for photo shoots. While the conservation world condemns interactions of this kind, Oleg Zubkov continues to ignore the increasing outcry from conservationists that this type of exploitation is dangerous for those interacting with big cats and to the big cats themselves. There have been numerous instances where captive big cats have attacked with fatal results. Put in a situation that is not natural to them, their inherent wildness comes to the fore. #Repost @captivewildlifewatchdog with @get_repost ・・・ It has been quite a while since we posted about Taigan Park so it came as a surprise when Watchdog was suddenly inundated by a plethora of comments from Crimeans defending Oleg Zubkov, the founder. One commenter sent Watchdog a link together with a comment saying “here are babies abandoned by the own mother and the director of the zoo is making another tiger adopt them.” Oh and he called us “idiots.” The video itself proves nothing. The park breeds. It breeds big cats. Where are the babies of the adoptive mother? Does she have milk? There was a photo of six cubs, two of which are shown here. Where did the entire six come from? Let’s also sit on the back of a tiger to make it sit down...... When a predator facility breeds, the information, images, videos, and accompanying rhetoric is manipulated to suit the park. It’s all smoke and mirrors.
