Y'all probably haven't actually REALISED how small Distro is compared to her dad cos its hard to gauge just from individual character art and the odd description or joke, but I'm making a really stupid comic (two actually, but this one is being done first) about Distro as a kid and that means y'all get to see the hobbit vs goliath situation foxens and wolvens have going on.

Grandmother/Old Mrs. Sheng

The best. She takes Minglan into her courtyard to raise her after Minglan’s mother dies. Knows Minglan is cleverer than she acts, but understands why Minglan tries to exist below the notice of others. Wants happiness for Minglan, won’t let her marry a man with any concubines (she doesn’t want minglan to go through the same sadness and pain she and wang roufu went through). Wants the best for her. Is very regal, smart, can be stubborn, and ruthless (if need be) but will do her best for her family.

Taichi (or taitai by their lords) is just a humble kitsune handmaiden who has little experience in the world and is pretty naive to literally everything. (they have one tail so can you really blame them? they’re baby.)

victoria is a stressed out cannibal who turned to that lifestyle under less than desirable conditions even for someone who would not turn to cannibalism.
