This is an invisigal appreciation post cuz fuck you I like her
Pointing out a handful of good things she did that make me genuinely like her.
-the donut. Yeah she destroyed it but Robert was harsh and hit a nerve so that was her way of taking back the gift and venting anger without actually causing any real damage (the real damage was waterboy putting water on a keyboard, sorry hes great but tech and water dont mix). Sure the mission didnt end all that well but it was still a success and she was genuinely happy to have done a mission well, probably better than any mission shes ever done with any dispatcher before Robert, so she wanted to celebrate even a small victory with the guy who helped her achieve it. She asked him what donut he liked, he was dismissive in his answer and she still got him one (with sprinkles by the way. Sprinkles are a celebratory thing, and with pink icing, she wears pink, so her know it was from her).
- she kept his secret. She never told the gang even once, in fact when he came out and said he was mecha man (by players choice) she was the first to offer her real name. She didnt say "I knew all along" like youd think someone with a cocky personality would do, she told everyone her real name in support.
- she was genuinely concerned for Robert's safety. She freaked out when he got stuck inside the suit, told Royd to help him, looked genuinely afraid and helpless behind the glass with a hand on it like she was reaching out when the suit malfunctioned. She wanted him to be okay. She worried. She cared.
- following that she took a damn bullet for him. One of the endings sure but she still did it. Idc if she betrayed the team to get there she helped beat up shroud, she took a bullet for Robert. Girl could have gotten herself killed but she did it anyway. For both Robert and beef, cuz for all she knew the bullet would have hit either of them or both. Shes lucky it went right through her during that selfless act because it very well could have stayed lodged in her shoulder if not hit her heart.
- she continued telling robert all about the first movie to catch him up on the sequel she was watching. Even when he didn't respond (because he was heading over there unbeknownst to her) she kept talking about it just so he would know the context of the second movie. She could have just given a short 2 sentance summery but she gave him a detailed run down and was still going by the time he got there. That was genuinely a nice considerate action just because he asked.
- also. Girl makes the first move is always a win over a guy making the first move. Plus the banter they have whether its flirty or not was a really fun dynamic. Imo her romance route was more interesting than blazers because their dynamics just felt like a better fit to me than whatever was going on between blazer and Robert
- visi understood people didnt trust her, is shown to feel remorse, and still tried to help. She got the didnt have to help him power the suit in the end, she didnt have to come back at all, but she did. She chose to. She chose to help.
- she listened to Robert's advice and motivation, sure she was stubborn and wasnt always on board but when she was going to Quit and had that talk with him, she listened to what he had to say and changed her mind and gave the hero thing another shot.
- if there were more episodes to better flesh out the characters we'd likely see a lot more of this side of visi. The side that's happy when something goes right, when she actually succeeds at something good, the side that cared about the guy who helped her do and be good, the side that wanted to do nice things without even putting any thought into it like giving robert a donut and telling him about the movie. Visi deserved more good moments because she clearly wanted them and enjoyed them and she damn well deserved them in my eyes
In case anyone was wonder, I really like Oscar. His story is so tragic. Imagine finding your purpose and then he LEAVES.
Oscar was so vulnerable with Arthur, and Arthur in turn, couldn't even tell him the truth. Oscar never got to meet John.
Oscar was so so kind too. Arthur is a STARK atheist, and Oscar never judged him. He was never passive aggressive. He just accepted it. He loved Arthur anyways.
Oscar is also just a BADASS. He was helping deal with horrifying eldritch creatures BEFORE Arthur even showed up. That man figured out how to deal with Scratch. Daughter of Nyarlathotep!!!!!
He beat a horrible priest with a hammer!!!!
He could have chosen to be an aggressive figure, but instead chooses KINDNESS AT EVERY TURN!!!!
I love Oscar sm
The more I think about it, the more I'm just in awe of the variety of amazing character designs this movie came up with. Like, all these characters were crafted with such love and fun and thought. You love to hate her, but Flo is so well done. She's a thick, tough-skinned warthog. She cares about appearance. She regularly treats herself to spa days. She's a vicious, savage business woman who enjoys playing others. She's a medium, but she holds herself with such confidence and never shows fear. She's absolutely a pinnacle representation of her species. Amazing.

As I’m working on my Isaac x oc fanfic I wanted to share some the headcannons I have for my beautiful husband. I’ll probably do another one at some point, but here’s what I have so far. Also be sure to read below the cut for the latest behind the scene pic of Isaac!🫀
• Isn’t a huge fan of animals after his heart transplant, but is still very much a dog person. (Frankenweennie reference)
• Is definitely an insomniac, but will preach about the importance of sleep with circles under his eyes.
• Believes that listening to music must strictly be on vinyl and played on a phonograph. (He does make an exception for walkman’s tho.)
• Not really a movie person, but has a lot of appreciation for silent, black & white films.
• Absolutely 100% neurodivergent.
• His sister is the one presence he doesn’t mind. (Gomez is a reluctant exception due to him not giving Isaac a choice of being included or not.)
• Black licorice is his favorite candy.
• His favorite season is autumn, however early spring is also a nice time of year in his opinion.
• He’s a black coffee drinker purely for the taste. (Once in a while he’ll put cinnamon in it.)
• Demisexual, but has never known someone long enough or has seen them prove themselves worthy of sparking interest within him. (Of course oc’s and y/n’s are separate from this.)
• Isaac is the older sibling and has ‘eldest daughter’ syndrome.
• Is aware that people try to use him, yet doesn’t reveal that he knows.
• For 10 seconds, Isaac thought about becoming a surgeon and then realized that he was above that profession.
• Has a god complex which is a direct result of his inferiority complex.
• Doesn’t really care for holidays and only partakes in festivities because of his sister.
• Isaac was on the donor list, however the doctor’s gave him weeks to live and stopped trying to find ways to prolong his life. Thus, Isaac took matters into his own hands and made his clockwork heart.
• His heart condition is a result of cardiomyopathy due to having Ehlers Danlos syndrome; unfortunately since this is in the 80’s-90’s most doctors weren’t knowledgeable in this condition. Therefore, he went undiagnosed up until he started having severe symptoms.
• Is an avid gothic literature reader and ironically the most frequent novel that Isaac rereads is ‘Frankenstein’. He won’t admit that he had a crush on Mary Shelly.
Thinking about Mia and how she had to walk the path of vengeance all on her own. How she investigated Redd White without telling a soul, and how she had to endure Dahlia Hawthorne traumatising her and robbing her of a partner. When she took in Phoenix under her tutelage, she was just grieving the loss of her own mentor. Phoenix and Marvin were probably the only people in the world who could provide her some solace. My theory is basically that Mia took a softer approach after Diego was poisoned by Dahlia. She must’ve felt so guilty that he was hurt because someone had a grudge with her, not him. And when Phoenix ate the poisoned pendant that took Diego’s life, I wonder if she also felt responsible for that too. A young person like him could’ve lost his life to that woman again, just like Diego, just like Terry Fawles.
Then remember the files she uncovered from Redd White. Blackmail, extortion, pushing people into suicide. Could she have thought her mother might have been one of those victims? She had lists of names in alphabetical order, yet she couldn’t have used them in court herself until she became a name on that list. Yet she wasn’t angry when she was killed. She still trusted that she can contact her sister and that’s all that matters to her. She knew of the finality of death, she has seen it over and over again. But what brought her relief is finally putting Redd White in jail, and exposing a meagre of his crimes to the world. Someone else could continue the investigations afterwards. It’s enough to her that she finished her mission, and I think it’s so sad that we would only come to learn of it after she had died. She was cautious and solitary. Anyone she confided in was caught in misfortune too.
Marvin was there to help her get into law, but he ended up being extorted by Redd White. Diego was there when Mia indicted Dahlia, and he was poisoned into a coma. Maya who was the most precious person in the world to Mia, constantly gets targeted by other criminals for just being an honest person. She may even have watched her mom struggling after the DLC-6 incident. And the aunt who she grew up with that harboured deep malice for her and her sister. Pearl was 9 when we met her in JFA, and I don’t need to do too complicated math to say that Mia had already left the village by then. That means Aunt Morgan only started to remarry, confirmed by Morgan that her husband only married her because he thought that she would become the new head of clan. I have a theory that Morgan was intentionally halting Maya from training so she wouldn’t develop any spiritual power. Maya kept talking about training when she met us, I think it’s because she only just realised what she needed to when Mia was gone. There’s so much training she has to catch up to, because she was taking it easy when she was with Morgan. The two sisters think fondly of their aunt, but I think even that kindness has a venom to it.
My last point is about art student Phoenix. He still had years of repressed traumas about people not believing him, when he became the accused of murdering Doug Swallow. He was also going to be murdered too if my goat didn’t save his ass twice. Doug died at 22, his life had barely started. He had discovered poison missing from his lab twice, once when Dahlia was dating him, then again when Dahlia was dating Phoenix. She dropped him right after getting that poison. Of course he would’ve known, but had no evidence to back up his claim. He did the best thing in his mind, which is to tell Phoenix who’s currently dating her that she’s dangerous and planning to poison somebody. I think in warning Phoenix, it showed that he believed in Phoenix’s innocence. Even if he had gone to the police, Dahlia would not have been the one carrying poison because she gave it to Phoenix. Then Phoenix would’ve become the accused again, and it’s not certain who would believe him this time. I think he was so grateful to Mia because she had defended him then. Mia could also be at ease after convicting Dahlia of murder, and rest assured that Diego’s killer is now behind bars. I think this narrative supports the death sentence but eh, I’m not qualified to talk about that.
My purpose of writing this is just to compile my theory on how Mia became gentler from Trials and Tribulations to the start of AA1, and passed her cynicism down to Phoenix. He has a deep sense of justice that gets so upset when Redd White was going to get away with murder and extortion, that he came to that man’s home turf to indict him, gets his ass whooped and somehow got him to testify in court. Is he stupid or ingenious? Putting his life at risk never seemed to bother him. Checks out on how I was saying Beanix Wright is the ultimate evolution of this reckless hero.
Anyway, I’m just thinking about all Mia moments in 1-3, 2-2, 2-4, 3-3. Of how gentle she is to Cody and her sprites in 3-3 is everything to me. They really put me in Godot’s shoes when they make the most beautiful and gentle woman and robbed her of life 😭 I love how protective she is over Maya in the cases I mentioned. She takes over when Maya is troubled or overwhelmed and needs her help. And the way she body hops channeller in 2-4 is genuinely galaxy brain 4D chess move. The way she embraces being a spirit and gets shit done in the afterlife will never stop being funny to me. And 3-5 absolutely ruined me. I see Misty’s smile, and it’s the same smile on Mia. She looks so much like her mom. Personal bias but I like Mia in Maya’s body a lot. I don’t like how she looks in her body and Pearl’s body. Idk like something about the brown hair doesn’t suit. Maybe because her hair was a darker brown when she was younger. OH it’s because she lacks the fringe in her basic sprite and Pearl’s body. I miss that so much. I miss the way she flips her hair fringe when she makes a deduction. That animation lives in my head rent free.
