*scoffs* My little Greeny is dangerous? Nonsense! She is a good and very educated slug, and would never hurt someone. Isn't that right, my little squishy love? Who's a good little slug? Whos a good little slug? [the stage 3 Poison kraata responds by flailing wildly while hissing and spraying poison indiscriminately everywhere in an attempt to break free of the glatorian hug] Yes you are! Yes you are!
Well, you’re definitely not going to want to hear this; but as someone that’s had to deal with these creatures before, I can say that most likely that thing very much wants to kill you.
I highly suggest that you surrender the slug willingly for your own health, either to the proper authorities or take it to Makuta Takarah. Otherwise it will get confiscated after it’s already injured or successfully ended your life.
Welcome, all. With the season of spooks well underway, I would like to ask everyone to be on the lookout for migrating Rahi, as many species are beginning their seasonal journeys to warmer climates. Those strange sounds at night may very well be a mating call rather than a spirit. Naturally, if you happen to find a Rahi struggling or injured, my door is always open.
Now that the seasonal announcements are out of the way, I extend the invitation to those who wish to drop by to join me, Kakea, and our newest associate, Alpha for the annual ghostly festivities.

What do you think of Takarrah? One of your own kind, turned against your cause?
Takarrah was always weak-willed. Though at first she sided with me when I overthrew Miserix, I knew she would object to some of the… changes I had planned for the Brotherhood. However, I also knew she lacked the heart for any meaningful rebellion. So I allowed her to live, and continue creating Rahi… under close watch, of course.
The sun beat down on the back and head of the reclined Matoran. Harsh yellow rays hissed off in gleams from a pure white and silver scheme, it only got worse the quicker Mazeka accelerated. Finely grained sand roared in waves behind the modified Moto-Sled. It was a bullet of a vehicle and looked like a squatter version of the Destral Cycle (Motorcycle?) without much of the pipes and wheels.
The Order of Mata Nui wished to have their field agents keep a low profile, but also saw the danger in sacrificing speed. The Moto-Sleds of Metru Nui were the answer, a vehicle used mainly in chute delivery and general transportation, fleets of them were modified for the order. Ready to descend into battle at a moments notice carrying the big and small at breakneck speeds.
However the reason why the spy Mazeka was riding one across the brief patch of desert near the Tesera region, jungles, wasn’t that. It wasn’t some skirmish or potential fight, no, he was supplying the role of a scout. He was looking into rumors of a Makuta.
This didn’t excite him, didn’t peak his interest, why should it? Matoran and Agori alike most of the time couldn’t tell the difference between a curved vine and a matured pit viper, a report of some Makuta could easily just be a bonehunter playing tricks. So it was put off, initially, by even the likes of those directly under Toa Helryx. But the investigation had to be done at some point, just so happened Mazeka was the most qualified for the job.
Now that did make him sneer. Only reason he was out here was because he knew how to blend, every other spy took way too much time immersing themselves into the field to know when to drop and run. As for the scientific mind, they got too curious and would blow cover if going near an actual Makuta.
Mazeka shook those theories clean out of his head with one sideways jerk, he wasn’t one for needing recognition. Admiration and respect, this was just a easy mission.
In and out, he told himself silently with a sigh that hissed out his mask.
The jungles of Tesera soon gave way to a fertile valley, a soft gash that ran off for a couple Kio to the north and south, grew fat in the middle.
For anything in the immediate area of such a quiet valley, one bothered only by the hum of nature, it would be obvious when the sled approached. It was kept low to the ground but the sound of its engine was like small thunder, even when not at maximum speed and at the entrance to the lush valley.
Skeptic green eyes traced objects as the spy flew by. If he so much as saw a twitch he would halt the sled and chase after it, the valley was deserted or at least described as such and anything in it could’ve been this Makuta. It was from a mixture of doubt and the possibility of a shapeshifter. But admitting that last part would be opening the door to thinking the rumors were real, which the spy would never entertain.
Hahli yawned as she sat up and tried to fully wake. The night had been too short, she had spend a good portion of it cleaning her hut, and she still had a long day ahead. Slowly becoming conscious enough, she couldn’t help but notice that her mess causer wasn’t hopping around on her. “…You still sleepy to, Iittle one?” It didn’t seem too big of a surprise; considering how active Iara had been yesterday.
In response, the spider only replied with a small sheepish chirp.
This sound paused the Toa, usually that sound came with more vigour and light cheer. She looked down at the small Rahi laying next to her. Iara was mainly still, partially the visorak looked almost uncomfortable as if her small body felt somehow constrained. There was definatly no immediate signs of pain going on, though her coloring appeared to be a tad dull; Hahli was unsure if that was just the morning light or not.
Concerned, the Toa gently touched and stroked the Visorak’s back. “Are you feeling all right, sweetie?”
Another quiet chirp and a few clicks from her mandibles was the only answer the young one gave out.
Maybe she’s just sore from all her playing yesterday, Hahli considered, hoping that was all it was. Today was going to vital and she couldn’t bring along a sick Rahi, at the same time it wouldn’t sit right with her to just leave when her pet was ill. Whatever it may be, it needed to clear quickly and she needed to start getting ready.
Getting out of bed, Hahli carefully picked up Iara. The hatchling let out a long low whine as she was taken up and then set on the floor by her caregiver, not wanting to have been moved at all. Oddly the Visorak did not follow the Toa into the kitchen, opting to stay in place and mew in secession while Hahli made the morning meal. Eventually, she began turning around multiple times before fidgetly scurrying under the bed.
That’s not… that’s not a great sign. Hahli placed down Iara’s small plate of food as she watched the Visorak hide away with growing concern. Alternatively, unusual as it was this morning, that place was the hatchling’s favorite hideaway and the little one wanted just some time alone… Yet that was not her normal behavior…
…………..
Checking her Cordak blaster one last time and affirming that it was fully loaded; Hahli’s sights drifted over to the small plate on the floor and the bed. The prepared food was left untouched and the spider had still not come back out. Concern had now turned into full worry, something was definitely wrong.
It was clear that she may have to get the girls to take care of Iara when she left; still, it would be one thing if the Rahi was just feeling under the weather, and another to just hand her over almost carelessly if it was something more serious. The Toa got up and crept over to the bed to check. “Iara?” She called aloud while she got down on her knees, trying to draw out the Visorak. “Baby?” No movement or answer came. Getting on the floor to access, she looked under bed, with what she saw, Hahli nearly screamed.
…………..
“Hahli, please.” Kotu groaned, she rubbed her eyes with one hand while the water Toa pulled her along, dragging her through the doorway. “I was up nearly all night, setting up my joke for Pelagia…”
“That doesn’t matter right now.” Hahli responded in a rushed manner, with a growing note of panic. “I need your help, Iara needs your help.”
The Matoran barely regained her balance as she tripped on a pet toy on the floor while still being towed. “Whoa- Look, I appreciate the confidence… but you know I’m not super up on bugs.” She yawned again tiredly. “…Don’t you have that spider expert… What’s her name? Toka, Taka, Takarr-”
“I don’t have time to get her!” The Toa instantly interrupted, becoming more anxious as she brought them closer to the bed. “This is an emergency, we need help now!”
“Okay, okay.” Kotu forced a stop and broke her hand from Hahli’s. “Just first, tell me what’s exactly wrong.”
“It’s Iara…sh-she’s under the bed…” Hahli found herself getting more distressed, choking over the words as she tried to describe it. “… she’s just laying there on her back, just twitching…and, and…”
“All right, calm down. It might not be that bad.”
“You haven’t seen her yet! You don’t know what-.” Abruptly, Hahli’s hasty reproach was interrupted by light hearted healthy chirp. A small young Visorak poked her head out from under the bed, her mandables clicked together curiously, she had heard her name mentioned several times.
“Well, I’m seeing her now and she looks fine.” The Ga-Matoran replied mildly.
Iara fully crawled into the open from under the bed. Out and emerged, there was some quick noticeable differences about the spider in question. She was slightly bigger, her pinchers were pure grey now, all patches of black on her body had disappeared. Her carapace was all pale blue, but seemed to be slowly settling into a deeper color. A light wet coating covered her all over. Skittering across the floor, it became apparent that something was stuck on one of her back feet; a long, thin, clear thing that almost seemed like waxy Agori wrapping. She wiggled, finally dislodging the rest of the piece off.
Kotu walked over as Iara hopped about and examined the object. “Huh,” she said holding up the flaky membrane. “Hahli, I think she was just maybe molting… You know, kinda like crabs do.”
“Oh…,” Hahli’s urgency was only now waning down as she took a deep breath. “… Right.”
The little Visorak began to chitter and prance around between the Toa and Matoran in her new form. Trying to draw the attention on to her; as if to say look at me.
“Awww,” Kotu cooed. “You’re just a new pretty little girl, aren’t you?”
Stopping in place, the arachnid stretched her limbs and gave a big yawn, showing off a mouthful of new pointed tips.
“Yeah…” Hahli commented slowly. “Such new pretty teeth…”
Giving another smaller yawn, Iara gave herself a quick shake and then went over to the plate that was still out for her. With a ravenous appetite she mowed down its contents. All too soon though she found her food all gone, in which she started to make hungry needy mews at.
“Hey Hahli, would it be okay if I gave Iara some extra food? Please?” Kotu asked eagerly.
The plea barely pulled the Toa out of a complicated deep tread of thoughts. “Huh… Yeah, sure… try to be quick, we need to get going soon… and please be careful.” Hahli was unsure if her warning was even heard as the Matoran was already rummaging through the cabinets.
Soon her focus began resetting back to the implications her mind was pondering, yet that was also interrupted again as something rubbed up against her. She looked down to find the spider now at her feet, Iara clicked up at her; to which the Toa then bent down to pet.
“Yes, I’m very proud of you,” Hahli told the purring Visorak. “I know you would start growing up, eventually…”
Of course, when Kotu brought out more for the Rahi to eat, the Toa meticulously watched on as the Matoran fed her pet. Hahli wanted to be cautious.
