Homemade food, abandoned railway, and dark tunnels
6.7.13-6.9.13
Time flies by when you're having fun. That's pretty much the story of every weekend.
Friday night after dinner, some friends and I headed to Osaka castle to light up some fireworks. Nothing too crazy, just sparklers and stuff like that, and of course this isn't allowed at all on the premises. We lasted for a good 10 minutes or so until the police came on bicycles and told us to stop with our shenanigans.
Saturday night, I stayed at a friend's place and we ate soooo much food. We made takoyaki (these ball things with octopus inside) from scratch.
The final product:
The takoyaki were pretty good!
For dessert, we ate the homemade cake that a friend brought with her and it was delicious!
And for dessert, chocolate chip pancakes:
Sunday, my friends and I headed over to a place called Takedao over in Hyogo prefecture to do some hiking.
This hike is a bit of a special one as the trail used to be a railway back in the day. But due to the building of other railways, this one was closed down. There's several signs along the way with stuff saying like this road isn't open for hiking, or no hiking permitted, but no one, it seems, really cares and you can see a bunch of people just hiking along the trail.
The start of the 2 hour trek:
So many trees! Look at all the nature!
Along the way, there are about 6 tunnels. Some are longer than others and so you're just walking through pure darkness for about 5 minutes or so.
An old bridge rusting away:
Two hours of walking and encountering strange caterpillars and crazy dangerous spiders, we finally made it to the end:
I'm sad that the weekends go by so quickly all the time. Time slow down for once, yeah?
