Belle's parents weren’t a couple that were built to last. Through an enormous amount of pressure from her mothers family, the couple split up and for the first seven years of her life she lived with her mother in Toronto. She would visit her father in St. Denis Quebec, but nothing permanent. Both she hand her mother missed her crazy father dearly. Her mother was going to defy her family’s wishes and move the two of them out there to live with him but on the way there they got into a car crash and her mother died. Her mother’s will stated that she would go and live with her father, the only person in the world she wanted to live with besides her mom

Living in St. Denis gave her some literal distance between herself and what had happened. She didn’t exactly enjoy living in St. Denis but she supposed it was a nice enough place. When she got her letter to Ilvermorny she was thrilled. Around the same time someone started sending her emails, telling her that she was being watched. This terrified her but year after year nothing really came of it. 

Belle has always been a bit of a lone wolf because she’s always been a bit of a controversial person. Quite a lot of people think she’s very smart but a lot of people think she’s conceited. Some people thinks she’s cool, other’s think she’s weird. Frustratingly enough however, the greatest controversy seems to stem from the question of whether she is beautiful or not. Some people say she’s the most beautiful girl at school, others say she’s plain, ugly even. Some say she doesn’t smile enough, other’s say that it makes her look cool and mysterious. 

Despite the debate, Belle really doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her or maybe it was because of the debate that she feels this way. She tries her best to keep away from people and their drama and keep her nose stuck in the books. Lately she’s been wondering if it might be worth it to write a book of her own but she’s certain anything coming from her would be met with a great deal of controversy. In the mean time, she’s looking for adventure and inspiration as well as a chance to dig deep and find out what she’s really made of. She feels very safe at the moment but is she? She continues to get the scary emails but now they’re getting worse, containing horrific, graphic images and details about her day. Who’s sending them and why? She wants to be in an adventure, not a horror story...

Before the Salem Witch Trials, witches and wizards didn’t have the same laws that kept them separate from their no-maj counterparts. However, when the trials began, the laws on secrecy changed. One wizard that didn’t care for the secrecy laws was William Cipher or Bill to those who knew him. Those who knew Bill feared him. He was a dark and talented wizard. He was even kicked out of Ilvermorny before he could make it to his specialization for attempting forbidden magic that resulted in the death of another student. He was never sent to jail since he was only a student and no one could prove he did it out of malice.

After the secrecy laws were enacted to keep witches and wizards off the gallows, Cipher deliberately broke the law and abducted no-maj from their homes to try his magic out on them. MACUSA, while in their infancy, tracked down Bill Cipher and trapped him within another magical dimension. 

Many forgot about Bill Cipher or the chill his name creates. However, one person stumbled upon a journal containing the information on the trapped wizard. This person, a MACUSA official, set the wizard free. Documents were forged and Bill became a MACUSA liaison. His job is to keep tabs on Ilvermorny and Cato. However, will he do his job or will he deviate to his old tricks? Perhaps he can do both…

Growing up under any circumstances is hard, plain and simple, no one escapes childhood without their innocence being tarnished. Alana was always very aware that there were plenty of children less fortunate than she was but after the death of her mother she just couldn’t believe that was true. Her mother told her when she was alive that she was beautiful and she held onto that, it was the only thing she could remember her saying since she was so young when she lost her. She internalized it, wanted to live up to it, she wanted to be the perfectly beautiful daughter for her father who had lost so much himself. As her sisters grew alongside her, she began to question how beautiful she really was and at Beauxbatons that doubt only grew.

The burden of the family’s secrets began to weigh on her shoulders, causing her to slump, it ruined her appetite and as the world around her spun out of control she found that there was one thing she had complete control over. Herself. She told herself that if she didn’t eat, she would be beautiful, that was the lie on the surface, the truth was that she didn’t eat because every second she held off made her smaller, gave her power she didn’t think she could ever have. Deep down, Alana just wanted to disappear completely.

Her unwillingness to eat got bad enough that she was hospitalized. It was decided between herself, Attina, her father and Aquata that she would keep it a secret from her younger sisters and from society as a whole. She never finished at Ilvermorny in her history specialization and is unemployed and living in a house in Greylock’s landing with her sister Attina in the hopes she’ll get better and one day finish her specialization. When she goes out, she uses charms and potions to look healthy but how long can she keep a big secret, especially when she isn’t getting better and is instead getting worse.

Elsa has a few vague memories of the country she was born in but it wasn’t long until she remembered her parents needing to move. She remembered panic on their faces and whispering frantic things to her about how they would protect her, that they wouldn’t let them steal her. She remembered liking Adamsville when they arrived, feeling oddly at home there. The most important memory of her childhood however, was the day her magic first manifested. She was ten years old and in a panic, convinced she was about to die. She had always had panic disorder so that was nothing new. What was new however was that instead of wearing herself out, the pain and anxiety shot outward in a bolt of icy magic, striking her sister in the head. She was horrified to see what she had done, no longer afraid for herself but for her sister who would have died had the headmaster of Ilvermorny not arrived to save her life and erase her memory. She was told that one day she would go to the school he was in charge of and that in the mean time she would have to be very, very careful about her powers.

Elsa and her parents took being careful about her magic very seriously, far too seriously but for good reason. Elsa’s magic was growing more and more powerful due to her cursed bloodline. Her mother, a witch told her all about it, that every thirteen generation in her family very powerful magic manifested and Elsa was the thirteenth generation. Her mother hoped that since she married a muggle, her daughters would be exempt from the curse but only one of them was. By the time Elsa turned thirteen, her skin had turned icy cold to the touch and she wore gloves to keep her powers in check. Every moment, every breath around others was a risk, she was a time bomb, ready to blow any minute and destroy everyone around her. She was determined not to go off around her sweet, innocent sister. She refused to hurt her, she decided she would rather die than do that.

When She turned eighteen and her sister entered high school, her mother and father took a business trip to France. She had a bad feeling about it, she had heard at one point that her mother’s brother lived in France. She barely slept while her parents away, praying every night that they would be alright. Her anxiety turned out to be well placed as her parents were killed on their way home when the plane crashed. Elsa had always been very smart and so she figured out pretty quickly that what happened was no accident. The day she heard her parents had died she hid in her room and closed the door tightly behind her, magic exploding, coating her room in thick, black ice. Her magic was so out of control she couldn’t even open the door to share her sister’s grief and made her burry their parents alone.

Now in her final year of school, she’s devoted every moment she can to her studies under the motto to conceal and not feel. She hopes that by pursuing a career in politics she may uncover who exactly was responsible for the deaths of her parents. In the meantime, her magic has gotten even stronger and with no outlet it’s only a matter of time before it explodes. She hopes her sister is out of the blast radius this time…

UPDATE

Elsa accidentally caused a mini winter, freezing her sister’s heart. After connecting with Rapunzel about having unusual powers, she was rescued by her sister and in turn, Anna rescued her. The winter subsided and MACUSA has since taken interest in discovering what caused it. Elsa hasn’t exactly let it go, she still keeps her powers a secret and avoids people but she doesn’t hide from her sister any longer. She may keep her distance but she is still there for her, slowly warming up. Having graduated she is now working as a teachers assistant to the magical politics specialization program as well as the headmaster, keeping her busy and isolated.

Rapunzel Gothel: A girl at school with similarly powerful wandless magic, she is envious of the light, healing nature of her magic. She is unaware that she is actually Rapunzel Corona, her cousin.

Meg grew up on the sunny shores of Greece with her family and she was very happy there…at least she was until her mother cheated on her father, shaming their family. At the time it all seemed very stupid, having to leave the country because her parents had an affair? When she grew up she would understand better the sort of shame and humiliation they were being subjected to. Frustratingly enough, instead of choosing some warm, tropical portion of the country, her family chose to move to Seattle Washington.

The rain did very little to boost her mood, she found herself getting depressed and yearning for school to start up. She was in that kind of mood when she met Adrien, a no-maj and probably the most beautiful boy she’d ever sen. He was a little older than she was and a bad boy, she fell head over heels. She was sad to leave him for the school year but every summer they would reconnect until eventually, when she was eighteen, they got together. She had to leave him again to go to school but she believed he would be faithful while she was away.

The summer before her seventh year was when things got bad, he was distant and he didn’t call when he said he would. She investigated and discovered that he was in debt to a vampire named Hades, an old and powerful one. The deal was that he would become one of his minions if he couldn’t pay up and like a fool, she told Hades she would take his place, little did she know that it would mean becoming a vampire herself.

The change had been sudden and violent but it would be alright, Adrien and her, they loved each other, he wouldn’t be afraid of her. She went to his apartment one night shortly after, keeping her bloodlust in check, determined to keep him safe. When she got to the door, hand raised as if to knock, she heard the unmistakable sound of love making on the other side. She was stunned, she had just died for him and he didn’t care. He didn’t want her. She thought about kicking the door down, killing them both but instead she chose to run away.

She was permitted by her new boss Hades to finish the school year but her heart really isn’t in it. Where she had once gotten fantastic marks, her grades were average, where she had once been friendly she was cold. She longed for the sensations of being alive again, how on earth could anything possibly be worth living for when you were already dead? She has to keep her condition a secret, she knows that, but sometimes she thinks it might be better if she let the world know she was now one of the bad guys.

Persephone, also known as Perri, Hiver lived in Alaska with her father for as long as she could remember. It was the only place she knew as home even though she was born in the lower forty-eight. That was why it was such a surprise when her father informed her that she was going to start going to school in Massachusetts. Did he want her to melt?

After visiting, Perri was more on board with going to Ilvermorny. It was on top of a mountain, which meant it was cold for most of the year. That was a big deal for her. Perri has suffered from Heat Syncope, fainting from the heat due to her natural low blood pressure.

Ilvermorny also offered her a chance to learn all sorts of magic . She loved her dad but his specialty was with ice magic and all things freezing. She wanted a chance to learn how to produce a bird from her wand and how to transfigure cute fuzzy animals into cups.

With all things considered, Perri made up her mind. She was going to Ilvermorny. She was just about packed when she realized she never packed a picture of her father and her. She went into the closet and started digging around for one to take. That was when she came across a picture of her as a baby she had never seen. It was with her mother. She hadn't seen her face in so long that she almost forgot what she looked like. She turned it over to check the date and saw “Tinley” scribbled on the back in her father’s handwriting.

Perri never got to ask her father about the picture but she did bring it, along with a picture of him and her, to school. There were going to be a few warm months where she was stuck inside. Perri needed something to do. What better way was there to waste time than trying to solve a mystery?

History Specialization    

FC: Mathew Daddario  

Kent is straight-laced, organized and has an unhealthy appreciation for the rules. He might be the only child of one of those who work for the LeSauvage estate that see his position as a blessing and not a curse. In the past, people who have worked closely with the LeSauvage family had been wealthy and respected in the magical community so he’s plenty eager to try and take advantage of it of he can. He doesn’t feel to guilty for wanting to use Adam’s family name considering he’s not exactly the sweetest berry in the basket.

The Cogsworth name has a relatively unexciting history, at least, that’s what everyone says. Hidden in the Cogsworth main family house, is a time turner which has been passed down through the family for hundreds of years. The object is undocumented by Macusa and a danger to use and so his parents have told him not to touch it but as his work load keeps getting bigger and his curiosity for history grows, he finds himself tempted. Does he have it in him to steal it? Can he even do it on his own?
