With the number of UC applicants at a new high, California residents faced tougher odds of gaining acceptance into next fall's freshman classes. A record number of students from other countries and states, meanwhile, received offers of admission.
UC's have been steadily accepting more foreign students over California residents because they pay more tuition. Why are public institutions becoming business oriented? Supposedly this extra money will be used to “help the schools”, but if that were true, then why are there so many budget cuts?
