New theme, new me
I lost my hugh morris streak due to uni... But I'll keep working on my little jester <3
Best social media (for artists!) in my opinion
1- Tumblr
I feel so comfy posting here, and everyone is so nice! Even if I posted something years ago, people can still have a chance of seeing it!
2- Bluesky
People there are actually very chill, and the algorithm is good so far
3- Tiktok
Sure, I might hate short form content platforms but it treats you fairly well. You can get a few likes and maybe one comment, but still, nothing too big
4- Twitter
Eeehhh... I NEVER got myself used to the way things work there... I could post an art as good as the Monalisa and no one would care. The algorithm sucks ASS. Seriously, how tf does that hellsite work? Also almost got banned for threatening to kill Elon with a mace (as a joke. I don't have the resources for that)... I still post there in hopes I get moots/visibility
5- Pixiv
Doesn't really count as social media... If you don't post characters that are famous/come from japanese media you have no visibility. But it works well as a kind of portfolio!
6- Pinterest
God, you only get reach by reposting other people's work, the moment you post your own, it flops. Also, I feel in an authoritarian regime in Pinterest... Stuff gets banned for stupid reasons, it messes up your comments, it turns off the comments on your post (without your imput) and more things... It used to be really good in the past, but now?? Horrible
7- Instagram
In 2020/2021, it worked perfectly! I even got a little fandom around my ocs and a lot of friends :) but nowadays you'll only do good if you post reels, because NO ONE CARES about normal posts anymore. Before, with the right hashtags, you got reach! Now it's useless. No matter how much you post, if it's not a reel, it will never matter
8- Youtube
Not for posting artworks, but discussing art. Or speedpaints too
I'm not really a person that cares too much about likes, followers and etc. As long as I get one like, I feel like my work has paid off, but I'm being very critical on my review from the standpoint of a small artist. Although... I would love if I were famous, not gonna lie lol
