Happy Womens Day!
Talanji: The Resilient Queen of the Zandalari
Talanji, the Queen of the Zandalari Empire, is a pivotal figure in the world of World of Warcraft. The daughter of the former King Rastakhan, she rose to prominence not only as a leader but as a symbol of change and adaptability for her people. As a priestess of the loa Rezan, Talanji is deeply connected to the spiritual life of her people, but her leadership transcends tradition and seeks to guide the Zandalari through an ever-changing world.
Unlike her father, who clung to the old ways, Talanji believed the Zandalari must adapt to survive. Her forward-thinking approach was instrumental in forging the alliance between the Zandalari Empire and the Horde, a move that her father’s advisers opposed but which Talanji recognized as essential in the face of growing external threats. Talanji’s leadership was tested in numerous ways, notably when she led an expedition to combat the blood trolls in the swamps of Nazmir. With the aid of Darkspear Trolls and the loa of the land, Talanji fought to defend Zandalar from the insidious blood magic of the blood trolls, even making tough decisions that challenged her father’s more conservative policies.
She also played a crucial role in uncovering the threat posed by the Old God G’huun, buried beneath the land of Nazmir, and led her people to confront this ancient danger. In her journey, Talanji’s spiritual connection evolved. Following the tragic death of her father and the fall of her kingdom's beloved loa Rezan, Talanji found herself stepping into a new role—one that required not just strength but a deep spiritual transformation. In a surprising turn, Talanji became a priestess of Bwonsamdi, the loa of death. This shift marked a new chapter for Talanji, as she forged a bond with the enigmatic loa and became a pivotal figure in Zandalar's spiritual rebirth. Now, as a priestess of Bwonsamdi, Talanji is tasked with guiding her people through life, death, and the unknown, with the weight of the Zandalari Empire on her shoulders.
Talanji's journey is one of growth, from a young princess to a queen who must balance tradition with the demands of the modern world, and now, as a priestess of Bwonsamdi, she faces a future where she must lead not only her people but the very forces of life and death itself.
I recently unlocked Zandalari trolls as an allied race. Since she was the first Horde alt I took through BFA content, I did the quests on my tauren hunter. I love how Vacanahwe is turning to look at Talanji like, "Yeah, you tell 'em, girl!
It was actually kind of fun to see all these guys again. In some aspects BFA was when the lore really started to go downhill in my eyes, but I do have good memories, too.
Nathanos saw my hunter's alpaca and was like, "Why is this sickeningly adorable creature staring at me?"
I really miss the grumpy stinkman and his master-level snark.
Anyway, I made a Zandalari hunter.
I leveled her to 23 in Zuldazar. I don't know if she'll be a major alt (I already have two other hunters at high levels, plus another one I don't play often) but I'd sure love to get her high enough to solo the Dazar'alor raid and learn to tame a crawg pet.
My favourite world of warcraft pairing <3 clinging to my alternative troll design :D
Concrit welcome!

Lore accurate height differences between warcraft women + generic human female
Some perspective fuckery is happening here a little bit but I think it still works lmao
