a break from the outside world had been good for lydia . she spent time working on herself and healing from the trauma that she had endured inside of eichen house . it was a long process but eventually she found her way again . and in the end , lydia got her powers back too . she waited until she was ready to start attempting any kind of research and that was the best thing for the strawberry blonde . with mia’s help , lydia found her powers and with her own strength ( and help from stiles ) she found herself again too . it had been a good time - but also , almost too good ? things were quiet and that would scare anyone in beacon hills . alas , lydia didn’t want to dwell . her best friend sister was coming back from vacation and she was thrilled . lydia had been waiting inside of talia’s apartment for almost an hour when she finally heard the front door open . “ hi ! ” she practically yelled . “ i’m not about to get all sappy on you but , god , i missed you . “

Faye had found out a few days ago that one of the Accetta’s had been severely injured. Angelo approached her with the news and since then she’d been spending a lot of time back at the house, taking care of the guy. Faye had even started sleeping there most nights. She was worried sick about him and it was in that moment that she truly remembered they were family to her. It was so easy for her to go back to them, which was fully proven when she heard the news. But Angelo and the others were not hurting Faye or treating her badly while she’d been spending time there. In fact, they had been incredibly nice to her. It was easy to the Accetta's as evil, but it wasn’t all torture Faye’s life. If it had been she probably would’ve given up a long time ago. There were moments where she really felt like they were her family, and that was starting to happen again. They let her sleep on a mattress, gave her some new clothes and a warm place to live while she helped look after her own.

The young werewolf was even playing around with some of the younger kids- those she grew a close bond to over the last couple of years. Of course they didn’t go out on hunts just yet but they were being trained. Faye definitely remembered taking them under her wing so it was nice to play around with them again. Faye had tossed a ball to one of them on the front yard when she got a particular and familiar scent. She turned around to see Talia across the street. “Hey, guys.. I’ll be right back. Okay? Don’t go too far.” Faye smiled brightly as she ran across the street towards Talia. “What are you doing here? You’re going to get killed if they see you.”

Allison leaned on the bar of her grocery cart, squinting at the list her dad had handed her on her way out the door.  His penmanship resembled a doctor’s scrawl than a hunter’s and it was a real pain in the ass.  It was a short list, and it wouldn’t have been so difficult for her to find everything if it weren’t for the fact that they had rearranged the local grocery store while Allison had been dead. That and the sleep deprivation- which was really starting to mess with her.  

She stared at the boxes of cereal covering the aisle like it was a life or death decision but Allison’s brain was somewhere else.  To a point where she was putting all of her weight on that bar, slumping over a little.  As the brunette readjusted, one of her Chinese ring daggers clattered to the ground.  For a precious moment she stared at it, like she was unable to process that it was her knife on the floor.

Art just finished clearing out a space in the den. It was really supposed to be a dining room, but his mother converted it to an office. Although it wasn’t an office in the traditional sense. Instead of computers and desks, there were rows of herbs growing along the south side of the room so that they could soak up the sun’s rays. Comfortable seating framed the room and a large coffee table was the closest thing there was to a desk. Art sat on a pillow and lit a stick of incense in the middle of the room and adjusted a few of the stones and crystals about the incense in a specific pattern.

“Okay,” he said, holding his hands out like he was trying to balance everything in the room so that it wouldn’t fall apart. “I think we’re good to go. The incense has sage in it, which purifies negative energies so you should be able to start relaxing, now. It’s kind of what we have in the shop but more concentrated. If you want something stronger, we have things you can um... inhale? But nothing stronger than cannabis.” He wanted to wait until she was more relaxed and less on edge when he brought up what he wanted to talk to her about.

The abandoned Beacon Hills Zoo was always a good place to hang out. The terrain was weird, there was always something new to see, and one never knew who they might bump into out there, but lately it had been exactly no one. It was why Erica absolutely loved it. To her, the preserve was so crowded and overrun with hunters, but the zoo? She and Talia could like around in the abandoned Great Ape exhibit and sit on the hammocks that stopped smelling like apes years ago. Erica actively swung herself in the thick ropes, watching the smoke from her joint fly back and forth. She kept having to relight it, but that was fine. She hadn’t had a seizure in weeks, now, and was starting to think maybe the worst was over. “I’m glad we came out here,” she said, giving up on relighting her joint for now. “This is the closest thing I have to getting away from this stupid town and all the stupid people that make me feel like I’m extra stupid.” The slight high was making her forget more complicated words than that.

Jake had been in a good mood ever since Talia agreed to move into a new apartment with him. He’d stressed himself out thinking about how she was going to respond for weeks and now that the secret was out in the open, Jake could relax. For some reason he had convinced himself that she wasn’t going to agree and he was so relieved that she actually seemed excited about the idea. This was a perfect opportunity to become closer to his sister, and adding a room for Lydia who felt like family to him just made the situation even better. He almost couldn’t wait to go apartment hunting, which is why he found himself waking up at the crack of dawn and sending Talia a million text messages until she also woke up. The second he got a response from her, Jake was in his car and going to pick his sister up. He honked the horn a few times once he arrived and smiled when he saw her. “Morning, sunshine. Ready to take on the day and find an apartment?” Jake said as he handed her a cup of coffee. Jake had always been rather cheerful in the mornings- although, he never really had a time of day where he wasn’t cheerful and polite to everyone.
