I am fulfilling my promise of blogging about how my summer is going HAHAHAHA! It is better late than never, right? I’ve been rather preoccupied last few days for my family was here and I wanted to spend time interacting and going places with them than keeping myself busy all day blogging but now I have the time finally! 

Samal Island is a place known in Mindanao for its beautiful resorts. One of my friends is from there and she travels everyday back and forth (Samal-Davao).

After our long trip to Surigao del Sur, we arrived home at about midnight. The morning after at 6am, we got ready for our Samal island hopping, another island hopping!! We only rested for less than 6 hours and my parents got even lesser resting hours because they had to pick up the food from the catering service because the island hopping is a “bring your own baon.” Oh how I love my parents and their effort. They’re the best.

We were at Sta. Ana Port at 7am waiting for the other passengers. We were with other 2 families/groups there. We went to Talikud Island and stopped at Coral Garden, Angel’s Cove then sa Samal, we stopped at Pearl Farm and Wishing Island. There were many more stopped overs but I forgot what they were called. Hehehehe!

How’s my skin color, you ask? RIP HAHAHAHAHA! Always have a sunblock lotion inside your baggg! And put on your skin every few hours, it’s helpful. :)

Hovering above Davao Gulf

One of the best things about living in Davao is being able to hit the beach in less than ten minutes—and minus the hassle of planning days (or even weeks!) ahead.

The shores of the Davao Gulf, where a bunch of beach resorts line up, are only a jeepney ride away. Entrance to these beach resorts almost doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket. And the grilled fares and seafood that can be ordered are ridiculously delicious and cheap.

An array of beach activities and water sports available overwhelmingly lead a confused beachgoer to ask a question (which we were spared to answer): which one should I try first?

Parasailing. That’s what scuba dive shop Wind and Wave Davao made us try. I didn’t know what to expect; my only knowledge of parasailing was limited to the scene in the 2010 movie Piranha where a sexy babe, attached to a specially designed parachute, was towed behind a speeding boat, ascending her to the sky.

Later in the movie, as the boat slowed down, she touched the waters and were eaten by piranhas. But I digress.

Once upon a Sunday, I packed my beach essentials to answer the call of the Davao Gulf: to parasail my way to a beach resort in the Talikud Island of the Island Garden City of Samal and to bask under the glorious rays of the sun.
