It’s sorta funny how angst and hurt/comfort are my favourite troupes to see in fanfic and art, specially because I love the drama of characters being vulnerable. But I’m almost never interested in the emotionally open characters who have several moments of vulnerability in the source material.

Of course that’s because I like subverting expectations and seeing something new from a familiar character. Unfortunately this is the origin of my obsession with unmanageably complex headcanons and theories about my favourite characters past, because if they won’t open up in canon I gotta make shit up for whatever secrets it may be interesting to have them talk about!

Did the fandom supposed to be panic and overreacted? Lets people feel how they want to feel. glad you are chosen to be positive, some people just dont and need to vent. after that we all back to love robron.

Venting is fine (I vent all the time), but there is a limit. Lately, people jump to conclusions because of antis or trolls making them think Robron isn’t going to come back or Robert will screw Rebecca. I hate people who cause others to panic for no reason. It’s upsetting, and I hate seeing people be upset over things that ultimately don’t matter. It took a long time for me to stop “sweating the small stuff” and I still do it in my everyday life. Fandom shouldn’t be a place that does that. It’s not healthy. It really isn’t.

Abby! *shakes head* I mean, you’ve gotta at least know who Lois Lane is, right? Even if you didn’t watch Smallville? But I guess since I know you’re not as big into sci-fi/supernatural stuff, you probably wouldn’t be familiar with most of them ;-) And I know Hit the Floor didn’t really grab you. Eyewitness is really good though!...is murder/thriller, with angsty (including in the closet) teens your thing?

Thanks Emma ;-) I just thought, I do actually love good female character, but you’d be forgiven for maybe not realising that with my fandoms, since I mostly focus on the boys! So gotta give the girls some love ;-)

what's the first drarry fic you remember reading? would you re-read it today?

Hello lovely, thank you for the ask 💜 My first Drarry fics were in my mother language (PT) and I barely remember them, except for the classic AU Green Eyes by Amy Lupin. This fic was responsible for making Green Eyes my #1 favorite Drarry song!

I started reading in English pretty early on and my strongest memory is of Irresistible Poison by Rhysenn. I remember being completely obsessed with it, I must have reread the scene where they get stuck together (was it inside a chest? A closet? Who knows, not me!) probably 25617168 times and the sexual tension would give me goosebumps every damn time 😂 I don’t really read love/lust potion fics anymore but I’d love to revisit this fic one day and get drown in nostalgia. Too bad it’s such a long read, but who knows! What about you?

do you ever think about all of the fandoms you’ve read fanfic for? tbh I was never the biggest hp fan growing up I really liked the movies and I still have never read the books but I remember my older siblings going to the bookstore at midnight to buy the deathly hallows, and I just think it’s a surprise for me personally to have ended up reading drarry. but your recs and blog have a been a tremendous help to me in navigating not only drarry but the hp fandom as well, so thank you!

Hi anon! That’s a very interesting topic, one I haven’t thought about much. I’ve been reading fic for so many years now, but I still suffer from the impostor syndrome. I almost didn’t create this blog because I didn’t think I knew enough fics to make it work and get traction. I still get anxious over making reclists, especially about tropes I don’t read much - they always feel a bit inadequate and poorly representative and most of the time I end up forgetting great titles 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve explored a few different fandoms over the years, but MCU and HP are the ones where I’ve been for the longest - that should make me feel comfortable but because they’re massive, I still feel like I haven’t read 98% of what’s out there, which is both exciting and depressing 😂 on top of that, many tropes are not my personal jam and I’ve always been the monoshipper type until very recently, so that also makes me feel like I haven’t really read a large pool of stories. Every now and then I stumble upon a reclist full of fics completely unknown to me and the thought that there’s still so much left to read inspires me to keep reccing non-stop, so that’s a great boost of energy despite my to-read list screaming murder lol

Sorry, I digress. I’m so happy to know that my recs have been helping you navigate this ship you never expected to love. Drarry is truly an addiction once you realize the huge amount of top quality fics that await you. It certainly ruins you for smaller fandoms (but they have their advantages too! They’re less overwhelming, for starters). I hope you continue to enjoy this great community and my upcoming recs. Cheers!
