Antonin Dolohov & Lucinda Talkalot at a Quidditch event for the France National team
drabble prompt: first heartbreak
Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead end street. Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly - Red by Taylor Swift
Lucinda wasn’t sure how she had ended up here, how she had ended up with a heart smashed into pieces she thought could be beyond repair. It had happened so suddenly. She just couldn’t understand how two people who were so in love, so dedicated to one another could just walk away from all they had built. She lay there in her bed; she hadn’t the energy to move. It was nearing three, noon. The door opened, Lucinda didn’t turn to glance, and she knew who it would be. “Hey sweetie” it was her best friend, Sabine Waters.“Hey” she said, her voice small. It was unusual for Lucinda to say so little, but she felt she had nothing to say, what was there too? Antonin Dolohov had walked out of her life, breaking her heart on the way out and taking a piece of her soul as a souvenir.
It was her first heartbreak, from her first love and she wasn’t sure how to deal with it. But she just couldn’t believe that it was supposed to hurt this much. It was meant to be heart break, a breaking of the heart, so why did it hurt to breathe, to think, to even stay awake. Antonin still seemed to fill all of her senses and she couldn’t wash him off. Even in sleep her mind raced with thoughts of him, of his hard chest that she would rest on as his strong arms surrounded her protectively. His big brown eyes, the way he would call her his, “Krasavita” his Russian accent seeping into it, the name that only belong to her. “Mon Amour” she would call him, for he was her love, but he was no longer. It took a long time for her to begin to feel like herself again, for the summer sun that was Lucinda. She finally began to shine again. It took her time and she didn’t think she would ever truly be over him, that was what they said about first loves, they are always to hardest to get over and impossible to forget. Antonin never did return that piece of her soul, but she knew she could go on. Life moved on, she could too.
Hc - first kiss
OOC: Her first real kiss, was with Antonin. This is mentioned in the HC for Antonin, but here is a more detail version.
First Kiss - Headcanon
The Spring Ball had not gone the way Lucinda had been expecting. It was far better. She was dancing in the arms of a handsome stranger. Every inch of her skin was alive at the contact with the masked man that held her so strongly. But thoughts seeped into her mind, plagued her head and she had to get out of there. She had always been flirted with, but men would just show interest and then leave her when they spotted someone else across the room. She was never wanted.
Her problem was Lucinda came across as a high maintenance bitch, she had to act like that. You had to act like you were on top, to be on top, well that was what she thought. But the man with the piercing blue eyes who was holding her so securely made her, herself again. Her shy, kind self. The one who believed in love, and caring. The girl she used to be. The girl she wanted to be. No, she pushed that thought away, she could not be that girl again. That girl was dead, that girl no one wanted. So Lucinda did the only thing she knew how. She ran.
However, she didn’t get very far, she had lost her mask in the haste of escape but she didn’t care. She got to the Hallway of the castle when a strong arm stopped her and spun her around to face him. He too had lost his mask, the unknown man was none other than, Antonin Dolohov. Her mind raced, and her heart pounded. Antonin closed the distance pulling her in. She closed her eyes as their lips met. It was everything Lucinda could have wanted for her first kiss. Gentle, passionate and she felt wanted. That was when she realised, she wanted him. His arm snaked around her waist holding her close as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Her body pressing into his. It was a moment she would never forget and a moment she would never change.
Like Parents, like Daughter.
Lucinda didn’t argue much with her daughter, but when they did it was a like a war, even if it was over the Daily Prophet gossip section. “Now, now what are my lovely girls arguing about?” Antonin wandered into the kitchen at the sound of raised voices. “Mum is acting like a complete…” She stopped the sentence there, everyone knew what’s Ketsia was going to say, but she knew Antonin didn’t take well to either Lucinda or Ketsia being called bad names, even if it was the other calling the other.
“Okay, what exactly happened?” Antonin said looking between the two blondes, he had missed them both so much in his time at Azkaban, that he couldn't even get annoyed when they screamed at each other. “Our daughter thinks it was a fabulous idea to make up her own little charm to make the boys next door run in circles, the poor children threw up.” Lucinda informed Antonin, who much to Lucinda’s annoyance, laughed. “I’m sorry, Lucinda darling. But that’s hilarious. And you made up your own spell” he beamed at his daughter, that was Antonin’s thing, he was know for making up spells, albeit it more dangerous that making children run in circles, but his special talent was his daughters too.
Lucinda looked at him like he was insane. “You are praising her? Oh my God!” She shouted, causing Antonin and Ketsia to loose their straight faces and burst out laughing, Lucinda was this big blonde ball of happy energy - seeing her lose her temper was endearing and amusing to both of them. “Sorry Mum, but it was so funny” she giggled. Antonin laughed too. “It’s true, I can picture it now, and also Lucinda, just how innocent are you on the whole, pranking front?” Antonin asked and Ketsia smirked. “Oh yes, I heard from Auntie Alecto you turned some poor girls hair blue” she said with mock horror. “And she made a bucket of ice levitate in a bar and dropped the contents on some girls head - all because the girl had the same dress on as her” he informed Ketsia. “Hey this is not about me” she said. Both father and daughter looked at each and smirked before turning to Lucinda. “Of course it is darling. Did you want me to continue?” Antonin said walking over to Lucinda, “or shall I tell our darling daughter of how we both liked to cause trouble” he said. “We were quite the troublemakers when we dated back in school. Always getting caught where we shouldn't be, showing the Gryffindors exactly who the best house was. One time we were in the forbidden forest…” “Enough” Lucinda cut Antonin off, she knew how that story ended - they ended up in a lot of trouble for that prank. “Let’s not give her ideas - she’s already the mini version of you, she’s going to cause enough trouble as it is” she said turning to her daughter who was wearing the most innocent expression - she was fooling no one.
Antonin motioned with his arms for Ketsia to come to them as well and he cuddled them both, kissing them on their heads. "I love you, both of you. So stop the bickering. Now Ketsia, you are can go out. But just for your Mother's mental state no pranking. Come home in a few hours and we will make dinner okay?" she nodded and squeezed her parents tightly.
“You make me out to be the bad guy” Lucinda said to Antonin, as if she was spoiling the fun for shouting at her daughter for pranking. “Because people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones” he winked, she couldn't help but giggle at the memories. Ketsia rolled her eyes, “okay I am getting of here because, ew” she said, leaving her parents embrace and Antonin wrapped his now free arm around Lucinda’s waist. “Don’t do anything your mother wouldn’t do?” Antonin shouted, Lucinda playfully hit him. “That’s lame advice dad, I thought you didn't want me to be a bad girl?” she shouted back. “Hey!” Lucinda shouted at them both as the door shut. Antonin was still laughing. “Oh come on, krasavitsa - what do you say we relive the time we got caught in the broom cupboard. This time without the interruption and detention?” She smirked and wrapped her arms around his neck. Answering his question with a kiss.
Dear Antonin, Happy Valentines Day. I will not reveal my identity, but I wanted to make sure you had some gifts for the holiday that celebrates love. After all a handsome man like you does deserve it.
First of all a Russian who's favourite drink is Vodka - well there is only one thing for it. Russian Standard Vodka.
I was shopping the other day when I saw this, I believe it would compliment your ice blue eyes. It's vintage.
And lastly, but not of all the least. I understand that you spent some time in France. So I thought a nice French twist would do nicely. Macaroons are a favourite of the French, I hear.
Anyway, I do hope you enjoy these gifts and have a wonderful day.
Yours, truly.
You’re not friends. You’ll never be friends. You’ll be in love ‘til it kills you both. You’ll fight, and you’ll shag, and you’ll hate each other ‘til it makes you quiver but you’ll never be friends"
