New Jersey Tall Case Clock circa 1820
Regulator, 1870, George A. Jones & Co. No. 8 Regulator pictured in catalog of George A. Jones & Co., November 1871. "Case is of black-walnut, with fancy oak panels; standing 9 feet 8 inches high, and 3 feet 2 inches wide at base." Movement has four holes and pallets jeweled, brass dust covers on the sides and top. Movement is attached to heavy brass brackets which are attached to a round brass disc, approximately 15 " in diameter and 9/16" thick. 3-jar mercury pendulum, 16 inch astronomical dial. 3 glass jar mercury pendulum, inscribed at the bottom of the ornate surround, George A Jones & Co., Courtland St. New York. Pendulum rod (flat) is ornately inscribed. Top crest has two holes in the center which apparently originally contained a medallion of some sort .
