“I slept on the couches of other people’s houses, overwhelmed in borrowed sheets. I went through their records, they had piles of bills and letters, and all these photographs of people I would never meet. Laid out in the light, shirt on my eyes, and I try, but I know I won’t sleep. And I don’t understand anything that has happened to me. Like I’m telling a friend and I don’t even believe me.”

//I heard The Weather Station for the first time when she performed live, opening for a concert I won tickets to from my college radio station (I would). She was fabulous live. I remember the friend I took with me complimented her on her music as we saw her at the merch stand after her set.
“A little kindness, a little praise some days, I get so close but I don’t really touch.”
