Sergei Polunin , 2021
Since A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is gonna feature more dancing than GOT and HOTD
Here are some dance stars I can see appearing in AKOTSK in some form:
. Tamara Rojo ( Dyanna Dayne )
. Yasmine Naghdi ( Solaria Martell )
. Michael Flatley ( choreographer for the Riverlands and Vale dances, a cameo as a Vale of Arryn court dancer for the Irish Riverdance/ballet hybrid of an Arryn party )
. Darcey Bussell ( choreographer of the Westerlands dances, which is like a mix of English style ballet and Celtic folk dances, a cameo as a Casterly Rock court dancer )
. Sergei Polunin and Steve McRae ( choreographers for the North dances, which is a mix of Russian style ballet, Viking folk dances and Scottish highland and Slavic folk dances. May either appear as cameos as court dancers or even as Princes of the North or smth )
. Jace Coronado ( choreographer for the Dornish dances, cameo as a Dornish court dancer )
. Some members of the Paris Opera ballet ( like Aurelie Dupont, Sylvie Guillem, etc ) for the dances of the Reach ( which is a mix of French style ballet and Celtic folk dances )
. Some members of the La Scala Ballet ( like Roberto Bolle and Alessandra Ferri ) for the dances of the Free Cities ( which is a mix of Italian style ballet and Byzantine and Ottoman folk dances )
I didnt notice how various dance companies often worked with several franchises till recently
Chinese dance companies often work with CDramas that got dancing and wuxia elements ( with martial artists and Cirque artists as stunt people! )
For Russian movies, they often use Bolshoi, Moiseyev and Vaganova dance artists for dance scenes, and Russian Olympians and cirque artists for stunt team
Turns out a number of movies use Olympians, dancers and acrobats as stunt people
Hellaverse is just catching up ( they got a bunch of Cirque du Soleil artists and dancers from the LA/NYC ballets and Broadway Jazz contigents as stunt people/choreographers and such )
OLEG IVENKO & SERGEI POLUNIN 2018 • The White Crow • dir. Ralph Fiennes
I’m usually a Mariinsky fan, but the Royal Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty Act III PDD is superior in terms of choreography and storytelling — and it’s likely closer to the original Petipa.
And Cuthbertson & Polunin are extraordinary together.
