. Art| Breaking Down Walls Artist| #tamaraR Wind no longer beneath these wings and sunlight useless amidst freezing temperatures, my mind isn’t as sharp as it was a decade ago. Knowing all the trivia and having the entire army to help me, I didn’t want to accept it. A little too jaded from my failures and shortcomings, I chose a quiet life. But, these thoughts and emotions can be suffocating . . . Being human is not for the strong. Only those who get comfortable on their knees whispering towards the great expanse will find rest. Tears water the parched soul. Screams erase the numbing silence. Writings overcome the wicked self-sabotage. Others reflect what it means to belong. Not one for the cheesy self-help or “enlightenment,” it is difficult to exercise this voice. Without agenda or explanation, each chapter revises my stubborn perception. Their eyes and ears are medicine to my poison. Moments spent vulnerable overcome lifetimes of sin. It’s inevitable . . . . 🎨 Self-image 🧑🏻‍🎨 #tamaraR . Blade of grass lifted up by the roots to float through this world of giants, contemplating why I must transition from one yard to another . . . Unacquainted with plans and long stays within temporary shelters, my heart drifts with the pull of each wave and brush against the unaware influencer. Nevertheless, my journey consists of three parts tired and four parts wonder. Composed of atoms which dance between positive, negative, and neutral; I don’t pretend to understand why my existence matters. Surrounded by trees, clouds, and intelligent species; I falter. Having too much to process, my composition breaks apart through the hands of time and emotional wreckage. Integrated into the whole, I find myself with you. We look back with tears and anger. Yet, together, we find a sense of purpose and harmony which each was void of when traveling solo. Blades of grass marching into the flames, each generation echoes the vanities of neglecting context and each other. In hopes that the future will not waste away, they whisper amidst our shadows. The things that matter cannot be materialized through blood, sweat, or tears. Only found through bittersweet surrender, destiny calls us to flow with change. The wisdom of life cannot be contained within finite constructs. . 📸 Title: The Birth of a Galaxy 📸 Artist: #tamaraR . Learning to let go of reflection while falling apart under the gaze of no one, alone in the silent and empty room for more than once. Time, not really a survivor, more of a prisoner whose only exit is death. So, even though the gate is unlocked with the key appearing as a pill, knife, gun, or a one-way trip to the bottom of the sea, I choose to embrace the cell. Yet, others are forced out through heart disease, cancer, depression, starvation, or what is inexplainable. Mothers suffer miscarriage, children are rejected, adults are cast out of people groups . . . Is this dark? Yup. Is it real? Very yup. So, why hide from or avoid it? I don’t know. Maybe, because we are scared. We were taught that fear is not acceptable. Geez, and we wonder why children are taking prescriptions while elderly are labeled as devils by the enlightened next waves. Anyways, I don’t like sharing my meditations because there are enough cynical douchebags out there. I’d rather make you smile. So, even though I am not supposed to lie, I will drink caffeine, dress cleanly, show up laughing, and sew this mouth shut. Crazy. Anyways, there’s a big reason I don’t want to father children. While I’d love them dearly, I don’t want to bring any more into this hellhole. I do my best to appreciate the ride, which is full of mercy and grace, but I’ll be damned forever before I purposefully let anyone proceed from my DNA who would need to experience forgiveness. Either they are good enough, unconditionally, or let the line end here. Yep. I get it. I don’t get it. I’ll be me for a little while longer, at least until the next version appears through the inevitable reshaping of beautiful experiences and heart wrenching regrets.
