15 Day Magisterium Challenge

My Next Door Sweetheart

Aaron hissed at the stinging sensation prickling his knee cap as he placed his palms against the stony, warm curb to sit down slowly.

The six years old looked down at the small wound which was clearly noticeable; the deep red blood against the bright smooth skin of the young boy. His pure, gentle lips formed a soft pout as he glared at the skateboard to his right.

He watched as a shadow casted above him and turned around to stare up, his chin poking up in the air for his vibrant eyes to interlock with a set of grey, stormy ones.

God, Aaron thought they are perfect; so welcoming and addictive along side with the rest of the other boy’s features. He let his orbs trace down the stranger’s adorable rosy nose, gorgeously arched cheek bones, warm lips which were parted in confusion and simply the utter beauty of the boy’s fair complexion.

Too young to love, Aaron told himself.

No, it wasn’t love yet ( he barely understood what it meant ) but it was the start of it.

The blonde snapped out of his thoughts when he realized the little kid was handed him a dark blue handkerchief and without really thinking much, Aaron smiled and took the cloth to cover his wound.

“Thanks.”

When he looked up, the boy had ran across the street towards an older man who was calling for the other boy and carrying a heavy box before dumping it onto the house porch.

Callum.

Aaron swore to himself to remember that name, his wound long forgotten.

They laughed.

Call was strapped safely under his best friend’s arm as loud, youthful laughter filled the winter air.

“Come on,” Aaron chuckled, shaking his head so the snow would fall graciously out of his golden locks and held out a gloved hand to help Call out of the sled.

The raven haired boy took the older’ boy hand, not really saying much but his friend understood that soft smile plastered on that innocent face was Call’s ‘thank you’ so Aaron simply gave a 'welcome’ smirk.

It’s been three years together and nothing could tear the duo apart.

School was tiring as usual but a certain blonde eleven years old boy couldn’t wipe the shining smile off his lips.

“Someone’s perky,” Tamara muttered suspiciously , eying her science lab partner but didn’t hide the smile pulling the ends of her mouth upwards as well when Aaron simply shrugged.

The duo had become a trio when the renowned Rajavis had enrolled their youngest to the Mage Junior Battle School but both boys had equally loved Tamara enough; in a platonic but genuine way, to accept her into their small friendship ring.

“Call said yes,” Aaron finally blurted out as the teacher went on talking about something along the lines of parent teacher interviews but he couldn’t care less.

Even Tamara seemed taken back by the news, her chocolate eyes widening before brightening with joy for both of her friends.

Aaron couldn’t wait to bring Call out to the movies that weekend.

Call’s head perked up at the clinking sound he heard knocking on his window pane.

With a grin on his face; already knowing who it was, Call unlatched his window to peer outside. He was greeted by a twirling Aaron who looked absolutely ridiculous as he pretends to slow down dance across the yard.

“You look insane!” Call shouted down, suppressing the hot laughter bubbling in his chest as he leaned his chin on both his hands.

“Why?” Aaron answered back, continuing his stupid antics.

“You’re dancing alone!” Call shouted down and let out a giggle as Aaron acted as if sudden realization dawned on him.

“Oh no! I need a partner immediately! Callum Hunt, young mister, get that pretty ass down here this instant!”

Call laughed as his skipped happily down the steps to open the front door to greet his boyfriend.

“May I have this dance?” the sixteen years old bowed, his hand held out to Call who faked a posh British accent while accepting the boy’s offer.

They danced silently in the yard, satisfied smiles on their faces, knowing nothing in the world would change anything.

So young.

So naive.

They didn’t see it coming.

Oh no, they didn’t.

The Bronze Key Theories P1

Characters: 1. A newbie to join the beloved four. - Honestly, I'm not very keen on this idea ( don't get me wrong ) because it seems a little odd for a sudden character jumping into this little family. But I'm sure that CC and HB has their little ways to make sure we simply adore this character enough to open heartedly accept him/her/it/them to the group. Also there could be the squirmy worm who pushed their way into the group via one of the characters ( ahem Aaron's ahem too kind ahem). Seems like an interesting concept to build on though. 2. The newbie creating a separate group from the iron trio with Jasper, Celia and Rafe etc. - Now now children, don't jump to conclusions. I not saying that I want Jasper taken out of the little, cost family happening right now but what if this new characters causing a dent in the current relationship between the iron trio and Jasper. Rafe seems awfully alone and Celia's only plot line is her crush on Callum so that is quite a empty character right there. ( I'll add on a little more bout this two later) So we all know, in the iron trail Jasper was known for trying to get close with Tamara because of her family status so what if this new character had exactly that? The perfect bait for Jasper to head to his/her/its/their direction instead but I highly doubt that since the bond he had sealed after the hold 'Constantine=Call' secret. So maybe this particular character could be a sneaky little fox and sabotage a little something perhaps? 3. A new/current suspicious mysterious character which now poses a threat to Callum's secret. A) Celia. First of all, NO SURNAME. I know it doesn't seem like much but I feel like this character was too two dimensional. Not much character development, just happy, fluffy and unicorn stuff. Even Rafe seems to have more of a human touch in his personality than hers. It's just this weird sense I get that she's more than she appears just for now. For a better good or tragic bad, I have no idea. B) Faded-s. So these are the people we had long forgotten of in the first or second book who made small appearances which held no big significance.' I'll list a few: ( Can you remember them well?) -Declan Novak -Kylie Myres ( ok this I remembered) -Alma -Laurel ( I forgot bout her but it was on the wiki page) -Anastasia Tarquin -Master Cameron -Graves Seems like a classic CC and HB move to push one of the slightly unnoticed characters -way- in front. C) Newbie Ah... The perfect classy strategy to add in a complete game twister. A new character. So I'm assuming this character would either have some sort of surprising or unexplained connection to an already existing character ( which is dangerous) or a quiet, secretive past ( which is even worse.) I'll post another theory list soon about the plot, but until then share your lovely thoughts!:) It doesn't have to be just restricted to characters; anything related to TBK is welcomed. All these theories were based off small spoilers and hints dropped of my CC and HB in interviews, conferences, meet and greets as well as posts/tweets. And yes, I am on a long ranting rampage. I'm sorry if my thoughts or theories aren't very accurate right now. Have a nice day, pretties:D

Magisterium fandom

Why we love Magisterium series:

Okay so I’m in a ranting mood so feel free to move on or… stay and reblog if you agree ;D

- Callum Hunt

Personally, what I find amazing of the very existence of this fictional character is how human he actually is. If you come to think of it, Call is just a pre teen. He’s disabled and doesn’t like pity.

Let’s dig deeper.

Call was a troublemaker from the start, the one that talks back, argues about everything and sasses everyone.

But he was still bullied. He still hated how people would have to slow down to walk at his pace. He hated how he would be left behind in groups. He hated how the scars on his leg would show if he wore shorts.

Even when he was built as a strong willed ( stubborn af) boy, he still had these minor things gently placed in the story which I feel is really gonna bite us in the ass soon.

Because in reality, feeling different is considered feeling scared.

So Call was scared about being left behind. Scared about slowing people down. Scared about people looking at his ‘flawed’ leg. Scared about what people thought.

So he pushes people away. Convinces himself he doesn’t care what they think. Ignores his fears.

He may not know it clearly yet but I really really hope as the series continues, we get to see this emotional development durning Call’s growth.

Because how many YA novels nowadays focus on human like characters instead of perfectly, strong, capable people?

Oh fuck, there goes all my emotional control.

So sincerely, Aaron, I do love you. But you’re fucked up.

Why?

Let’s rewind.

So it starts out with Aaron being this super kind, happy and helpful guy.

No problem.

Then about the orphanage and his skills.

Okay.

Then he slowly develops into a very talented Mage.

Cool.

Then in the Copper Gauntlet was what hit me.

Aaron had a dominant side. If you think about it, he grew up without any parents. His dad is in jail, and I don’t know where the hell is his mom.

Point is, Aaron wanted to help so much, give joy to everyone, be a glowing beacon of hope and kindness solely because he didn’t have one. It must be suffocating, having to subconsciously pressure yourself to be a better Mage because that’s all you could do.

Be better.

Aaron couldn’t afford to fail, no, because in his world, failure means he would be absolutely nothing. He needed to be the best in everything because he had nothing.

His dominance was simply because he was so damn tired of having to control himself so much. Strangle himself into a tiny box of what he perceives as ‘perfection’.

Quite like anorexia because once there are results you can’t stop.

So when Aaron saw that if he really, really pushed himself (hard), people would notice him. People might care, sure it may not be genuine but at least he won’t be so …alone. Also just to convince himself he has a point for his existence.

Besides, just because he can’t be happy doesn’t mean he can’t make others happy instead.

Aaron is literally the kind of person who would apologize for getting blood on your shirt if you stabbed him.

So a kickass, dominant, confident, smart ass woman with discreet insecurities about being compared to others aka sisters who are perceived by her parents to be better?

Oh god drown me in feels.

Like any other growing teenage girl, Tamara has her own sets of insecurities. It doesn’t have to be weight or crushes or looks.

She’s just afraid she would never be able to be as good as someone else. So she sets her goals fucking high just to 'fit in’ with her family because she’s afraid that she wouldn’t be good enough to beat the name and pride of her last name and be isolated form her family.

Just take her sister for example. The eldest became an Element and what does her family do?

They wouldn’t even mention her name.

Like, look I get it, your daughter is now possessed by an element which rotted her soul and this is terrible. Which is exactly why you should stop playing the blame game. She became what she was because she wanted to be what her parents looked for in a 'perfect’ child.

Like a good daughter she tried everything she could for her parent’s satisfaction.

Tamara is on exactly the same path.

She knows how disappointed her parents are with their first -what they considered- failure of a child, and she wants to be the next life line to live up to their expectations. It was embedding in her personality since birth to be the best or be nothing at all.

And Tamara would never except nothing.

So like Aaron, she pushes herself but difference is she pushes for what may seem for her parents but truly because she’s afraid she might not be worthy enough. She was doing it comfort herself that she wasn’t just another failure.
