listen listen listen (grabbing you and shoving you into a beach chair) i know i frequently go over how i disagree with what most marriage of figaro stagings do with marcellina but i especially dislike how they boil marcellina and susanna's whole #feud down to 'jealousy over the same man' or something... like. first of all marcellina isn't actually -into- figaro. in her mind figaro is a nice and charming young man who she wouldn't feel bad about marrying (ofc until it turns out he's her long lost kid but we'll get to that later). marcy wants to marry him not because she -loves- him but because she is desperate to attach herself to anyone and save herself from dying as an unloved spinster. anyway with that out of the way marcellina isn't jealous of susanna for being engaged to figaro, marcellina is jealous bc susanna is everything she was shamed for being. like think about this from her perspective ok. imagine you have sex before marriage and a baby out of wedlock (a baby that, as far as marcellina knows, dies not long later) and you're shunned by everyone around you for being 'damaged goods' etc. the man you loved, who HAD promised to stick by you, turns on you in pursuit of keeping his own image clean and eventually tries to marry a woman the same age your child would've been while, for the most part, discarding you. you have a ticket to get out of dying unloved and rejected, but one of the things standing in the way is a woman who... is just like what you were cast out from the community for being. she's loud, she spits in the face of what her societal superiors want her to do, and she has an active pre-marital sex life with her partner ("but that's not confirmed in the script!" i'm sorry to break it to you this way but figaro and susanna are ABSOLUTELY banging). like... of course marcellina isn't going to be happy about this but not out of Man-Induced Jealousy or whatever, but because it's unfair susanna gets all this and still has a relatively good social life while marcellina didn't! and, yeah, it isn't fair! and part of marcellina's arc is about accepting what happened to her just isn't fair but that she can keep going despite it. anyway if anyone else calls marcellina a bitch they are going to jail right now do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars

Most of it would be about my 'sona, and would feature plenty of lore and worldbuilding woven in. These would primarily take the form of standalone short stories, or oneshots, unless I have a particularly good idea to make a little serial out of.

My reasoning is twofold: 1) I want to have more of my lore in writing so that if something happens to the video game save files that it all comes from, I still have something to remember them by. 2) I want to be more active on this account anyway, and this gives me an excuse to check it more often and have some content to show for it.

I'm probably gonna do it regardless, but I do want some input on this idea. feel free to reply/reblog/send an ask with your thoughts
