Rapunzel pushed the door of the library open slowly, wincing at the creaking sound. She had never seen a library before, but in her storybooks back in the tower she had read about them, she was excited to see all the books that the beautiful building contained.

She gently pushed the door closed after slipping in through the small crack she made. She took a deep breath and called out softly. “Hello? Is anyone there?” She wasn’t sure that the library would be guarded, but if she had so many books in one place she would definitely not leave the room.

Mary Margaret texted Belle, hoping that she would meet her in the lovely park. She didn’t want to be pushy, but she was worried about Belle, and she didn’t want her friend to get hurt. And she couldn’t say that she was the best judge of character, but she had seen how Rumpelstiltskin acted, and she was certain that Belle needed to know.

He sighed, hating himself even as he turned away from Belle. Because no, he wasn’t going to explain himself, not about this. Because it was petty and stupid and pointless really. “No, I’m not going to explain myself,” he informed her.

The dust had settled and the group was back from Neverland. It had been quite a trip. Neal was very thankful to be home and even more thankful that Henry was safe. Neal and his father had reached a turning point in their relationship. While things were by no means perfect, they were certainly better than they’d ever been.

Neal was willing to make the effort, he was willing to try. That was why he found himself walking into his father’s shop in search of him. However, instead of his father, it was someone else he saw. He knew her name was Belle, but he didn’t really know her. They’d only ever met when she was Lacey and he hadn’t exactly liked her.

Even now, Neal wasn’t sure how he felt about the woman his father was so fond of. At the docks, the three of them had shared a hug and they almost felt like a family, but it had only reminded Neal that they weren’t. Rumple and Belle might be, but he wasn’t part of that.

“Uh...hey. I was uh, just looking for my papa.”
