A helping hand (Tammy Gregorio x Reader)
•• What's this? Another fic so soon? Looks like I'm finally getting my ass in gear. Anyway, this wasn't requested. I went to the dentist this morning and imagined Tammy was there with me. Enjoy! 💚 ••
The 'too clean' smell of the air made you wrinkle your nose. Tammy sat next to you with a small smirk on her face.
"Does my torture really bring you that much joy?" You sighed, running a hand through your hair. The waiting room was empty except for the two of you. Some popular Maroon 5 song played in the background.
"Come on, you're afraid of a dental cleaning, with the job you have, how is that not funny?"
"Blood and guts have nothing on scraping metal on teeth." You shuddered.
"(Y/n)?" She elbowed you in the side as the dental assistant called your name.
"Do you need me to hold your hand?" She teased and you slapped her before getting up.
"No, I don't need you to hold my hand." Walking up the assistant smiled.
"How are you today?" She asked before turning around to lead you down the hallway.
"It could be better." You laughed. "I could not be here."
"Got the dentist jitters, huh?"
"You could say that."
"Don't worry, It'll be over before you know it."
"That's what I tried to tell her." You turned before glaring at Tammy as she leaned against the door frame. You sat down in the chair and Tammy came in and sat in one across from you.
"Is she allowed in here?" The assistant laughed.
"Most of the time, no, but in this case, I'll make an exception. She might make it easier for you." You laid back as she put on her mask and glanced at Tammy. She smiled and gave you a thumbs up. You never took your eyes off her as you opened your mouth and let the assistant get to work, only moving when you were instructed to do so.
"Alright! All done!" She took her instruments out of your mouth and you sat up. You wiped your hand across your mouth.
"Really?"
"Yep!" She replies cheerfully. She glanced at Tammy with a warm smile. "Someone must have really had your attention." You and Tammy left the dental office and headed down the street to a new Cajun restaurant that had just opened. Once you'd both sat down and ordered she kicked you lightly under the table.
"That wasn't so bad, was it?"
"No...I guess not." You kicked her back. "It was mostly because you were there."
"Hey," She grabbed your hand. "On a serious note, you know I'll always be here for you, right? Even for the small things."
"I know, Tammy." You both pulled back as the waiter delivered your lunch. "I know."
"Great." She snatched the stick of garlic bread from your plate and tore off a chunk. "Then you won't mind sharing this."
