i'm not a big fan of shipping characters of the main group in phanbus. i can't really bring myself to see them as anything other than four lil kids who find comfort in each other. i'm not against shipping of course, but something i see in fandoms a lot is people just shipping them for the sake of "yaoi" and forcing interactions or forcing romance between characters simply because they coexist.
honestly i wouldn't mind people shipping them as much if people didn't keep sexualizing them. they're still like 15 years old and people really shouldn't be wondering shit like "whos the top" or "whos the bottom". plus most of the people ship mogari with zaki and eugene but never tamon? the common pairs are mogari and eugene and zaki with tamon. in popular fandoms it's common for people to have rarepairs and have multiple multiple different ships. is it because people can't see two "masculine" men together? i feel like in posts and such i keep seeing eugene and zaki being portrayed as "feminine" and mogari and tamon being seen as "masculine", it's so obvious that people want them to be portrayed as "the man and woman in the relationship". it all just looks like another form of homophobia to me.
of course i'm not saying i want people to ship a certain duo together but i'm curious why some are more popular than others and why gender roles are being implemented in ships that are clearly just two growing boys together. is this a bad take
idk i'm bad at english so
please don't flame me
