Your first kiss with Tamon Kotaro
Content: fluff, possibly ooc (sorry :/), gn! reader
The first time you guys kissed was after he confessed his feelings for you. It was about eleven months since you first met, eight since he first saw your face. He looked like he was about to throw up (spoiler alert– he was)
The fact that you and Tamon even managed to get this close emotionally and physically, was a miracle. He’d never been great with living people– especially not with ones as drop dead gorgeous as you. Which is why you guys got close in the way you did. See, Tamon never planned to meet you. At least not on purpose.
When you guys first met you didn’t meet face to face. No. You met voice to voice. You were having a bad day and hid in a desolate spot on the rooftop. You were all alone up there. No one to disturb you… Or so you thought. Sigh. Sigh? That wasn’t you. It was someone else. Usually you wouldn’t mind the company but today you really just wanted to be alone, devoid of human interaction. So you just kept quiet. Whoever it was couldn’t see you from where you were anyways so why bother. Until… ACHOO! Fuck. Turns out hayfever doesn’t just make spring a living hell, it also gives away your hiding spot. “Hello?”, the voice of the mystery person speaks up. It’s soft– different from what you were expecting. From then on the rest was history. The next couple of encounters between you guys were the same. You hid, your voice and thoughts the only thing you left vulnerable in front of him. Little did you know the reason this mystery person was so comfortable with you was because he thought you were… a ghost?
Helloooo!!! Can I get ypu thoughts on Zaki with a reader that's like the perfect student on the outside but on the inside is a huge nerd and loves anime like him
hope I cooked 🙏
The library was drenched in late-afternoon light, its silence heavy and expectant. You sat at your usual table, posture flawless, uniform crisp, the very image of composure. Teachers adored you, classmates admired you, and no one ever suspected that beneath the perfect-student mask beat the heart of a full-blown anime nerd.
Your psychology textbook lay open, but tucked inside was Attack on Titan Volume 20. Levi’s fight against the Beast Titan had you gripping the page, biting your lip to keep from squealing. Perfect students didn’t squeal. Perfect students didn’t reread fight scenes three times in a row.
But Zaki noticed.
He was two tables away, near the window as always, his dyed hair catching the light. Kaoru was quiet, reserved, the kind of person who seemed untouchable. Rumors swirled around him—spirit-sensitive, cursed, inaccessible. Most people didn’t bother trying to get close. But when your page turned too quickly, revealing the manga cover, his eyes flicked up.
“Levi’s technique is flawless,” he said softly.
You froze. “You… know Attack on Titan?”
Kaoru’s lips curved—just barely. “I’ve read all of it.”
Your mask cracked. “Wait—so you saw the basement reveal? The Marley arc? The—”
You stopped yourself, cheeks burning. But Kaoru’s eyes lit up, subtle but undeniable. For once, he wasn’t distant. He was alive.
“Eren’s shift in perspective,” he murmured. “It’s unsettling. But brilliant.”
You leaned forward, whispering fiercely. “I thought I was the only one who obsessed over that!”
Kaoru tilted his head. “You hide it well.”
You laughed nervously. “I have to. Perfect students aren’t supposed to fangirl over anime.”
Kaoru’s expression softened. “Maybe they should.”
Every time you thought he’d retreat back into silence, Kaoru leaned in further, his reserved shell cracking with each shared passion. His voice was still soft, but his words carried weight—like he’d been waiting for someone to understand.
The librarian shushed you both twice, but you couldn’t stop. Your perfect-student mask was gone, replaced by wide eyes and an excited voice. Kaoru, usually so inaccessible, was smiling—small, fleeting, but real.
Later that week, you found yourselves on the rooftop, the city stretching out below. Kaoru leaned against the railing, his gaze distant. You sat beside him, clutching your bag.
“I don’t usually talk about this,” he said quietly. “People think I’m… cursed. Because I see things they don’t.”
You hesitated, then said: “Mob Psycho 100. Volume 9. Mob walking away from Reigen. That’s what it reminded me of. Choosing yourself, even when people don’t understand.”
Kaoru’s eyes widened slightly. “You think I’m like Mob?”
You smiled. “Introverted. Reserved. Misunderstood. But stronger than anyone realizes.”
“Hmm yeah I guess so. Though you're a little chaotic.
You laughed. “Chaos? Try One Piece marathons until 3 a.m.”
Kaoru shook his head and laughed a bit. “You’re worse than me.”
And just like that, the distance between you vanished.
On that day forwards, you and Kaoru would secretly read manga and anime together! You both were glad you guys could bond over something you both loved.
On the bus ride home, you both lost it over Demon Slayer’s animation, you both thought it was so peak.
Every moment chipped away at the masks you both wore. You weren’t just the perfect student. He wasn’t just the inaccessible loner.
Kaoru felt like you were the one person who he could show how he really was to, and you felt like you didn't have to put on the perfect act around him as well.
He'd throw up if I even said hello 🥲🫶
