The Ex-Morning (เพราะแฟนเก่าเปลี่ยนแปลงบ่อย) - Episode 04 (2025)
Episode 3 is really making me sit back and think about Tam because we actually see so little of him? Of who he is when Phi isn't looking? All we get is the fact that he is here because he loves Phi. We see him hit on Phi and try to win him back with a confidence that, once we find out who broke up in the first place and how, seems shameless and callous. But is Tam really understanding the depth of the impact his leaving like that had on Phi only in episode 3? Did he think he himself was the one who carried all the heartbreak, that Phi was just mad about it but had in fact moved on in his own life? He seems genuinely shaken throughout the episode as he figures out that Phi is as stuck and angry and lonely as he is because of what he did to them. Is he only just seeing how much he means to Phi? And what does that say about Tam? How is it that you leave an years-long relationship, well aware of how it breaks you to do so, but still convinced that your partner is going to do just fine without you?
We also see how furious he gets when others hurt Phi in this episode, only for him to also realise that the biggest blow was dealt by him. Is he only just realising the weight of what he's been asking from Phi every time he pushes the line and tries to get him back? How is this going to change how much Tam pushes at Phi's walls, and how much he'll try to get together again?
This' just in: The Ex-Morning and its Colorful News
First things first, hello my beautiful people, it's me, your girl, Moonchild. These past couple of weeks have been pretty hectic, so if you don't see me here as much as before is because my life is getting in the way of my fangirl life and I'm not liking that fact one bit. But, no matter how much life tries to screw me over (in a very non fun way, not that it matters), I'll always find a way to spare some time to talk about my favorite things and this week's choice (and the choice for the next 11 weeks straight) is The Ex-Morning.
And what do I have to talk about a series that hasn't aired yet? Colors. @respectthepetty, this is for you.
Before I start, I wanna make clear that I have no experience in colors and how they speak to us in terms of visual media but I have read enough posts about colors to say with 99% certainty that Pathapi seems to be a Red Rascal and TamTawan seems to be a Blue Boy (at least, in the two posters of the series he is represented by the color blue).
About TamTawan, I've only seen two instances of a blue item in his possession (a blue pen he was holding in a flashback about his college days, when he was still dating or in the process of having Pat as his boyfriend and a pair or two of blue jeans)
and throughout the scenes depicted in the trailer he's seeing using dark colors most of the time or he just jumps from one to another randomly. In one scene he's even using a shirt with stripes
so I guess that must mean that he's a mix of a Blue Boy and a Black Brooder.
Who knows?
But Pathapi...this man is CONSISTENT in his colors, in a way that tingles my skin and became the reason I'm writing this today. The very FIRST scene of the trailer, we already see traces of red in him with the scarf around his neck
(an add-on about the scarf thing: when the director is talking to Phi about the repercussions of his actions, we see him looking at a file and that we have two pictures of Tae - the guy he threw the cafe on - wearing green and then wearing red.
Considering that Tae replaced Phi as a news anchor, is the same as saying that Tae took Phi's color to him, represented by his job. Tae seems to be a Green Guy - because of the file aforementioned - and the scene where Phi is running away while having cabbage leafs thrown at him could symbolize the fact that Tae was the reason he had to leave his job quickly (aka. run))
Also, when Phi is starting his new job, trying to interview people at the market, everytime one of the vendors shoo him away, there's a green item being displayed in the background, a clear reminder that he is in that situation because of Tae.
After the scarf, we have the seats in his car, red.
A red jacket (not pure red but a shade of red. It's still red, regardless).
A red writing in the left side of his shirt, in one of their flashbacks (left side, right above his heart).
Phi also throws some black here and there or a dark shade of a dark color...
but there's always a hint of red with him (mostly, in the form of his badge, that is red).
Besides Tae, who appears to be a Green Guy, there's Paul, Phi's senior in college, who appears to be a stripped Blue Boy.
Nudee, Phi's junior, is a Yellow Gal - about Nudee, who's a representation of KristSingto fandom, and a literal fan of Phi, her being Yellow, who's also the color of the flower associated with Tam's - a sunflower - can be a visual reminder to Phi about Tam's presence in his life.
Wari, the owner of the salt farm, wears blue, also Tam's color, and a bit of pink (which is appropriate because in this scene she's talking about Phis feelings)
Suwit (Podd's character), Tae's "minion", seems to share the same color with Tae.
No matter what color TamPhi decides to wear, there's always a reminder about their colors: at the billboard, when they are talking about the reason Tam is back (the red of the writing, the green in Tae's suit and the very faint hue of blue at the bottom);
when they have the conversation about the old coal;
when they are stranded in the island.
Our blue boy always surround our red boy, no matter what.
Always loving him (notice the pink in his shirt, while Nudee is wearing yellow beside him and the blue mug in front of them)
Showing how much he cares. And much he wants to have his lover back. Because exes change often and, sometimes, an ex can stop being an ex and be official again.
So my TikTok algorithm let me into AustraliaTok because of Tamtawan.
What are we thinking Tamtawan’s horror would be on a scale of one to “I’m booking a flight home”?
I can't tell if it is TamPhi or KristSingto. It doesn't even matter because of these couples are one and the same.
