“Sarjakuvaa piirtää suomalainen Toivo Kaartinen. Useissa somekanavissa ilmestyvien strippien lisäksi kettuparin puuhista on julkaistu myös kirja sekä pehmoleluja. Sarjakuvat julkaistaan englanniksi, enkä aluksi tajunnut että piirtäjä on suomalainen. Jonkin stripin uniikin suomalaisesta yksityiskohdasta sen sitten ymmärsin. Strippien tilanteet ilmeisesti pohjautuvat Kaartisen ja hänen kumppaninsa elämään, mutta hahmot ovat kuitenkin fiktiivisiä. Piirtäjän nimi selvisi ainakin minulle vasta, kun kirja julkaistiin. Foxes in love kuvaa parisuhteen dynamiikkaa oivaltavasti, hauskasti ja aina lempeästi. Kaartinen saa raajattomiin (jopa hiukan plorpomaisiin) kettuhahmoihinsa uskomattoman paljon ilmeikkyyttä pelkästään silmien muodolla ja tuuhean hännän asennolla. Minä ja kommenttien perusteella myös monet muut samaistuvat näihin kettuihin ja strippien tilanteisiin vahvasti. Jotain olennaista ne siis tavoittavat parisuhteesta ja rakkaudesta. Siksi toivon, että sininen ja vihreä kettu ovat yhdessä mukana kisassa!” – @vinokettu
