i really like the idea of writing more STS fics set in cozier/happier AUs that aren't just. the slayers reliving their trauma and having to climb the spire over and over again but it's also mildly awkward because we don't have canon "names" for the slayers (except defect i guess since it's Just a robotic construct) and i don't really want to write a fic with any of them using made up headcanon names in a story setting where using their epithets wouldn't really make sense/would feel awkward (background/throwaway characters are fine, but with main characters it's iffy). in the canon universe it's ok since the slayers kind of only know each other in that setting/aren't really as personal with each other (they're all just focused on trying to kill the heart/architect) but man. i almost wish we had canon names so the idea of writing certain kinds of AUs wouldn't be as awkward.
