I visited a hide tannery. It also used to be a mink fur farm, and the empty mink barns still occupy most of the property, but they said they shut that part down because they couldn't compete with China.

I asked if they thought the tariffs would help them and they said no.

I asked what they did with the non-skin parts of the mink when they had that and they said they'd sell them to crab fishermen, because, apparently, crabs love mink meat and otters won't steal it.

The puma is bleached.

Hi, visited a tannery today specialised in giant skins (bull, buffalo and calf). Leather is tainted and colored and coated in their workshop in Vosges Mountains, east France.

It was a super cool moment !
