SMILE SOUTH CENTRAL
by Tarbox
Houston artist Scott Tarbox started participating in art shows in 2012. His colorful graffiti-inspired style gained him quick popularity, but he is perhaps best known for collaborating with Black Cassidy to bring Free Art Friday—a global Treasure Hunt movement encouraging artists promote their work by leaving it to be found by the public—to his hometown. Tarbox has now done work across the country from San Francisco to Miami, with three wall reportedly painted in the Wynwood arts district, and has two walls in the Candelaria district of Bogota, Colombia. In May, 2017 he produced his first work in Los Angeles, at 47th St. and Vermont Ave., as part of Smile South Central, a community beautification project begun in 2014 and quickly embraced by the neighborhood. @tarboxx2 @smilesouthcentral
