Follow Up Tarot Reading - Upcoming Colonoscopy (Check Previous Posts)
I’ve got an endoscopy and a colonoscopy coming up. They’re doing them at the same time, or at least close together. The reason for all that is I’ve been dealing with what they’re calling an upper GI bleed. I’ve got a lot of pain in my abdomen. TMI but my stools have been bloody... Sometimes they’re yellow or green or both at the same time. It doesn’t stay one way long enough for me to get comfortable with it. And that right there is enough to make anybody’s mind start running.
So I pulled cards: Three of Cups upright, King of Cups upright, and Queen of Wands reversed.
When I first laid them down, I wanted to know what they might find during the colonoscopy. No holds barred, give it to me straight.
Three of Cups upright
Most folks read that card and think celebration, friends clinking glasses, you know? But when you look at it from a body standpoint, it’s three cups raised together. There are three vessels holding fluid. It's like a little gathering and a little community. In the body, Cups point to fluid like blood, mucus lining, bile, and/or lymph.
Three can mean a cluster... Not one single thing standing alone, but something grouped. Maybe multiple irritated spots, possibly inflammation interacting with bleeding interacting with fluid imbalance. It didn’t point to like a hard mass or something solid and unmoving. It suggests wet, reactive, and like tissue that swells and weeps and gets angry.
Upright it suggests visible, recognizable, and not some strange mystery doctors have never seen before.
It was even said it could point to microbiome disruption. That's the little community inside the gut being thrown off balance. That stuck with me because my symptoms change colors. Yellow and green diarrhea usually means bile’s moving too fast, not being reabsorbed like it should. That fits with irritation and rapid transit.
Then there’s the King of Cups upright.
That’s controlled and mature water. In a medical sense, that can point to a defined bleeding source. It would be something with an origin, not chaos spraying from nowhere. It seems like something very specific.
It can represent ulcers, gastritis, erosions in the lining, inflammatory processes, and even bile involvement. The King sitting calm while waves roll around him seems like turbulence in my symptoms, but something contained at the center. Not like a life-threatening rupture. Just something inflamed but still within bounds.
Queen of Wands reversed.
Wands are heat and fire. The digestive tract runs on fire. When the Queen of Wands flips upside down, that fire turns inward. It's overheated, irritated, reactive, and sensitive. It can symbolize inflammation, autoimmune response, hormonal flares, and tissue that’s fed up and lashing out.
It didn’t seem like a growth card or obstruction. It suggests like angry lining, colitis energy, Crohn's-type inflammation, ulcerative irritation, and/or infection-triggered flare. It's literally something hot meeting something wet.
As we know, Cups are water and Wands are fire. Water and fire makes steam.
Steam is pressure. It shows up as cramping, urgency, pain, and diarrhea. And that feels exactly like what's going on in my body. It's pressure building when heat meets fluid too hard.
It was also pointed out what the spread didn’t strongly suggest. No suggestions of a large tumor, total blockage, or slow-moving collapse. It seems active, messy, inflamed... But not sinister in a hidden way.
The King upright suggested the doctor performing the scopes knows what he’s looking at. It suggests that whatever is there will be seen clearly and I will be in good hands.
There was also an emotional layer that can't be ignored.
Three of Cups and King of Cups together is emotional containment. Like holding it together. Queen of Wands reversed is burnout.. heat turned inward.
Sometimes the gut mirrors stress. I've had a TON of stress lately. Lots of stress over what this could be. Like the not knowing, the waiting, and my mind wandering into dark corners at 2 a.m.
That right there could be part of the steam.
The body and the nervous system are tied tight together. You hold things in long enough, and sometimes the gut starts speaking for you.
So if I put it all together, I'd say the scopes may show inflamed lining, possibly ulcerations, a defined bleeding source, irritated tissue, and/or maybe immune-mediated inflammation. But it seems like something identifiable, treatable, and something doctors will recognize.
They’re doing both scopes because they’re being thorough. That’s good medicine.
At the same time, I am allowed to be scared.
That part was said gently... Being afraid of what they might find doesn’t make me weak. It just makes me human.
Right now, I’m sitting in that space between not knowing and finding out. My body’s been loud and my mind’s been louder. I’m trying to hold steady like that King of Cups while the water sloshes around me.
And that's my very open and honest reading that I wanted to share with you. All of these readings have pointed to the same things, which is validating. I know it's not a diagnosis but it will be nice to look back on these readings after those procedures are done.
Improvisation is fishing your teabag out of your tea with a thermometer because you forgot a spoon in the kitchen but your tarot research is spread out over your lap. I refuse to make myself rebuild my research nest!
