Two more motifs from my wizard umbrella. I am actually having a problem trying to post things suddenly on tumblr! I cannot get into this blog through my laptop. Even though I was always able to switch back and forth between my two main blogs. Any ideas? I hope you are enjoying my work so far.
Tarotbear by Don Chooi, 2005. After contacting Don to rave about his artwork, I found out he had been a secret fan of me! He did this wonderful illustration of me for no particular reason - isn’t it great! His personification of the four suits appears behind me.
My enamel Magician Pins just arrived! 1.5″ x .87″.
After what seemed an interminable wait for the cards - (my order would not get accepted and every email took another day of waiting for an explanation, then the P.O. told me a label was created but they had no product to ship me for over a week!) - I finally got the card - the back of which is a business card advertisement - and the enamel pins together! 100 pins [Wizard pins] cost me $300 and 54 cards [Printer’s Studio] another $30.
The Magician card is from my male-centric Tarot - “The Everyman Tarot” (sold by The Game Crafter).

John’s Wizard Costume - Completed! On Video!
Finally - a day without rain when I have someone to photograph me! After 30 years of use, my wizard costume had tarnished and faded bling, so I worked to retrofit, re-bead, re-work, re-embroider, and re-bling my costume (see my archive for some of the re-working in progress). I also made this non-pointy hat to wear; the pointy one always made my head sweat!. After 30 years, the collar is still standing! I posted this video on YouTube:

Update on lost hard drive
On January 2nd (no way to start the New Year!) my external hard drive gave up the ghost. I found a company that says if it’s on a hard drive they can save it, copy it to a new drive, and send it back to you (for a price), The next day I mailed it off FedEx and MYSTERIOUSLY between it’s pick-up point and hub ON A PRIORITY OVERNIGHT DELIVERY, the package was empty when it got to the hub. Sound Suspicious? I had to prove to FedEx that I actually had bought a HD! Currently have a claim in, as does the recovery company, since they paid for my shipping to not get a package. No word about how much FedEX will pay me for the lost drive. That same week (no way to start a New Year) my paper shredder died, and I dropped my phone and it broke in two! Can we say ‘Mercury Retrograde’? I have since bought a new phone, a new paper shredder, and a new external HD, which HP Smart Friends, connected, formatted, hooked up, and connected me to the cloud.
My book manuscripts, tarot deck designs, and peripherals to those are on thumb drives, but everything I had on the external HD is now lost.
