I've been reading Tarot cards for about 30 years. As most Tarot readers are aware, to get three or more Major Arcana cards in a Celtic Cross spread is atypical to highly unusual.

Yesterday I did a reading for a Grandmother from Australia - not her first card divination - also not something she does with any frequency. In the spread where I used 11 cards - there were EIGHT MAJOR ARCANA cards! Eight out of eleven!

I have never had that many Major Arcana in any other reading I have ever done.

What are the odds?

I got this deck off the internet; the designer has a blog on Tumblr called '100 Gay Icons' and he usually blogs them also with a bio of the subject. At the beginning of the month he offered 15 decks (?) for $100 each, delivered. I just got mine today and they came in a metal box.

Use them for Tarot readings - no. But a great gay (I still hate the term 'queer') history deck. It has the Majors, and the four suites are the house of Actors, Athletes, Leaders, and Crusades.

It's very interesting. I got a signed and numbered copy, #2/15.

I was able to slap this together faster than I expected, although it still needs other finishing, but that will have to wait until after I wear it this coming weekend for PRIDE. The fact that all the ties have been sewn down and I can still wear it in this semi-finished state is 95% of the job. When I bought this black wool kilt a few years ago, it was a rental on sale cheap - and it was in my waist size although 2-3 inches shorter than I would wear, so I did buy black wool and interfacing, and after this weekend I will remove the waistband and add 3 inches upward, and then also move the straps and buckles upward. Even if the blacks don't match - I wear a wide belt that should cover most of the alteration. I have worn this kilt in the past with suspenders so that I could drop it down to the correct length. I originally planned to use 6 ties across the front apron, but it seemed too crowded, so I used five and added the purple tie to the under apron, which shows when you walk or sit.

I will probably use the narrow ends of the ties to make a co-ordinated sporran to go with the kilt. (no pockets, you know).
