#CharacterDesignChallenge of march. Carnivale of Venice. I tried to design litterally a Venice-Costume :D
-fake eng- Hi guys! This is the facebook cover i've realised for Le Cool. It's based on Ottorino Respighi's Pines of Rome. I like how music can trigger fantasies and designs. From left to right, the four movements: Pines of the Villa Borghese; Pines near a catacomb; Pines of the Janiculum; Pines of the Appian Way. Cheers :-)
Exercises from lesson 6 of Creature Anatomy with Terryl Whitlatch. In order:
1) references
2) anatomy study
3) elephan + other animal hybrid anatomy
4) color + dynamic poses
Lesson 6. Elephants! Thinking about it…i may say this is one of my favourites. And that’s because at first i’ve really missed the point of the assignment, creating not a “discrete creature” (a balanced hybrid) but a chimera with the predominance of thylacosmilus anatomy over the elephant one. Feedback came in. Lots of corrections (which i deserved), five minutes (let’s say “hours”) of self-pity, and then… i kept working, i used the extra time to re-draw the assignment and… i must say i kind of like the result. Even though it is not winning the “orignality award”, it is a functional mix and i succeded in delivering a balanced hybrid between an african elephant and a belgian draft horse. Never give up.
Exercises from lessons 8 (dynamic poses) and 9 (final assignment) of Creature Anatomy with Terryl Whitlatch.
lesson 8: references + sketches
lesson 9: references - steps - final illustration
And this is the end of the journey :) it’s been so good to be in class along with many great artists and under the guide of Terryl Whitlatch!
Exercises from lesson 7 (“Narrative Illustration”) of Creature Anatomy with Terryl Whitlatch. We had to design some comp shots/sketches illustrating a scene from our own imagination
1) references
2) synopsis - cover
3) shots-storyboards
4) color scheme
Exercises from lesson 4 of Creature Anatomy with Terryl Whitlatch. In order:
1) references
2) anatomy study
3) canine-dinosaur hybrid anatomy
4) color + dynamic poses
