A while back I sent an ask expressing interest in KCD because of your blog, and I'm here to say: I finished the first one! I loved it, but I'm glad it's over so I can continue to the second one. Really enjoyed the slow paced after credits mission, especially when the game called me a virgin with a trophy. My spouse laughed so hard.
I personally couldn't imagine pursuing romance in this one. Who has time for anything but bettering ourselves for vengeance, you know? Also, Stephanie really gave me the ick in her first scene, so I avoided her at all costs LOL I'm probably being very judgemental. Anyway, how did you handle romance in the first game, being a Hansry fan?
omg yayyyy i'm glad you enjoyed it!!!! i missed the virgin trophy, my henry stumbled into at least three different sex scenes unawares. i actually wrote a fic about it (kinda).
as for how i handled it: i ended up doing the theresa romance and then saying i didn't in kcd2. since unfortunately i couldn't rly get the nuance of how henresa plays out in my head.
i would really recommend doing the theresa romance if/when you play again. she's a really great character and it's unfortunate that you kind of have to romance her to experience more of her (also play woman's lot if you have the dlc!). i like to interpret my henry as gay, so playing it through that lens + theresa turning henry down for marriage, i hc that they move on from each other- romantically at least.
stephanie tbh isn't rly a romance just a sex scene although i do find that relationship kinda fascinating and have my henry sleep with her. her being put in the position of a loveless marriage + birthing an heir, but still arguably taking advantage of sb who has just lost everything. henry being able to sympathise with her. it also makes some interactions with johanka in her leg of a woman's lot more interesting
