Natasha woke up warm.

Which was a marked difference from how she’d gone to sleep.

Darcy liked it cool, and so Natasha bit her tongue about the temperature, figuring it was better to let Darcy make herself comfortable because Natasha could sleep anywhere. She sensed the astrophysicist could not. Just a hunch. Not a judgement.

So she’d let Darcy turn down the thermostat.

Which contradicted her current situation.

Warm.

Comfortable.

Not alone.

She opened her eyes a crack to see Darcy’s curls. Everywhere. On the pillow, draped over Natasha’s face, down over Darcy’s as well.

Natasha surreptitiously tried to push them out of her face, only to feel the other woman chuckle against her.

“Sorry, it gets everywhere.”

“So do you, apparently.”

“Um, not sure if you realize it, but your body is all the way over the invisible line. Someone was chilly last night.”

Natasha opened her eyes fully to see that what Darcy said was true. She was on Darcy’s side of the bed.

“My apologies,” she began, rolling back over.

“None necessary, get back over here. You’re warm..” Darcy said, wrapping her arms around Natasha’s waist to hold her in place.

Natasha normally wouldn’t have bothered.

But she was warm. And Darcy kept it so chilly.

This was comfortable. She’d deal with the repercussions tomorrow.

Natasha grinned, clicking her tongue against the back of her teeth. “You do, huh?”

“Yes,” Darcy said, reaching across Natasha for the TV remote. “Just an FYI.”

“For my information... and what, pray-tell, should I use this information for?” Nat asked, sounding every bit like the little shit she was, but Darcy loved that about her.

“I dunno. Don’t care. It’s free information,” Darcy said, trying to sound nonchalant and not thirsty like she was.

Thirsty.  Ha.  Funny that she was the thirsty one when Natasha was the vampire.

“Free information? I do love free things,” Natasha mused to herself, her hand sliding over to lace with Darcy’s. The next time she moved, she was right against Darcy’s throat, her tongue sliding along her pulse point and making her shiver.

“Nat,” Darcy whispered, her hand coming up to the back of her head to hold her there.

She hummed against her and Darcy felt the slight burn as the fangs pierced her skin. It was a burn, but a glorious one.

What brings you here today?” the woman asked, arching a perfect eyebrow and making Darcy wonder just what kind of routine these fae-folk had for their eyebrows.  Because she was willing to spend some time in fae to learn, just saying.

“You know, I just stumbled into the fairy ring. I’m sure you hear it all the time,” Darcy said, laughing loudly and trailing off when the red-haired fae didn’t even crack a smile.

“Actually no. We don’t hear that all the time,” the other woman replied. “Considering that the rings aren’t real. It’s just an urban legend.”

Darcy gulped and shrugged. “I don’t actually know how I got here, but...”

“But?” There went that eyebrow again, it made her belly twinge.  Perhaps it wasn’t the eyebrow, but the one making it move.  Natalia was more beautiful than she’d been prepared for.

She had razor sharp teeth and green eyes and flaming red hair and Darcy was just about ready to pledge herself for just a chance to kiss her feet and Darcy wasn’t someone who particularly liked feet, okay?

“But if you want me to stay, I will,” she continued.

That got a reaction out of Natalia. “Most people don’t want to stay here. Most are trying to escape.”

“Maybe you just aren’t taking the right people then,” Darcy said with a grin.

A grin Natalia returned. “Come. I’ll show you around. You can make an informed decision.”

Darcy knew as soon as she took her hand, she was here for good.

And maybe that was alright with her.

Ghosts - Darcy Lewis/Natasha Romanov

“Just because I’m dead doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings,” the voice sounded from behind her. “I don’t like being shrieked at, Darcy.”

Darcy jumped and turned, looking into the beautiful face that had scared her in the mirror that morning.

The face chuckled and Darcy was spellbound, staring at her instead of running out of the house completely.

“What do you mean, dead?” Darcy asked.

“I’m dead, mischka,” the woman said with a shrug, climbing onto the kitchen counter and perching ont he edge.

“You look amazing, though...” Darcy replied.

“Why thank you,” she said with a chuckle. “It’s been ages since someone told me that.”

“Bull,” Darcy said. “Someone probably tells you that every day.”

“Maybe someone will now that you’re here,” she said with a shrug.

“Yeah, maybe.”

The figure started to fade and she called out just before she was gone. “What’s your name?”

“Natasha,” she replied, fading into nothing.

Natasha,” Darcy mumbled. She’d remember that for next time.

Ice Skating - Taserbite

As her skates glided across the ice, Darcy couldn’t help but think she’d finally found something she was better at than Natasha. Not that she’d been keeping score. Because there wasn’t a score, really. It was just Natasha being amazing at everything.

But if anything, she was a little clumsy at ice skating. Either that, or she was stunningly adept at looking like she was a little clumsy at ice skating.

She tripped and Darcy grabbed her arm, narrowly catching herself as well. As she pulled Natasha back to a standing position, the other woman surprised her by leaning over to kiss her. It wasn’t the kiss that surprised her, the kiss itself was a part of the ruse. They were supposed to be a couple.  A lesbian couple vacationing for the winter in Vermont wasn’t that big of a stretch to believe.

But the way she kissed was what surprised Darcy. It was lingering. It had heat. It was... god, so good.

Darcy staggered a bit when Natasha released her, and she caught a glimpse of a smirk when she opened her eyes. “What was that?”

“Thanks for catching me,” Nat said.

“No problem.”

“Maybe it’ll happen again?” she teased.

“Maybe so?” Darcy countered, completely out of her depth here.

Nat pecked her lips again. “Here’s hoping.”
