I just re-read A Baker's Guide so that I could better enjoy The Knitter's Guide and boy howdy, I am well fed. I mean, I can't wait for Rosa and Pie's story but Josie/Bell and June/Ash are so, so good (and so soft). Thanks to you, I'm reading again. 😊💛

I did take Command the Moon down in February of last year.

It’s one of my favorite stories I’ve written with a lot of personal content even inside of that whacky crossover combination. There were some things about it I wanted to rewrite (I wanted to follow a menage angle I ignored in the fic version and rework the beginning) and at the end of the day I wanted to sell it as its own story. So my version of it is available at books2read.com/commandthemoon although there may be someone around who has a download from ao3 they would share with you. I’m cool with that as long as it doesn't get reposted. I did try and give people heads up here on Tumblr when it happened. I’m so glad you enjoyed the story!

Hot take: Yen makes Jaskier immortal because if she isnt around to annoy the living daylights out of Geralt, someone should be and who better than the bard?

She also doesn’t tell anyone about it, and is amused when Jaskier (who is actually a bit suspicious and may actually know especially as she’s the only one to comment on his supposed wrinkles) thinks maybe he really does have an excellent personal care regime??? like, cut to an add with a picture of a winking Jaskier with “I’m 97 and still look 26! Find out how!” but not actually. He also gives a different, absurd answer to anyone who asks, and it’s something awful if he doesn’t like them

This also begs the question on if people will start thinking that maybe the name Jaskier is actually a Bard Title? So people try to get apprenticed under Jaskier like “I want to be the next Jaskier!” and he’s all proud and feeling accomplished until he realized that no, they want to BE the NEXT JASKIER thinking it’s a title that means they have a Witcher Bodyguard-- or maybe

maybe much like that theory that Roach isn’t actually immortal (which is clearly slander, begone from my sights!) but that Geralt buys brown mares and names them all Roach, that he similarly collects a bard of the appropriate age, look, and skill level and just calls them all Jaskier like WELL YOu meet one brown haired, blue eyed bard, you’ve met them all, and they’re all named the same name conveniently

Geralt legitimately doesn’t notice for a very, very long time that Jaskier isn’t aging like normal. When did they meet? IT was... Hmm. Well how did regular humans age when not acted upon by supernatural forces or killed early by a monster he hadn’t yet killed? Yennefer didn’t look much different, she’s wearing different clothing............. but.... so is Jaskier.....
