A man in Taskim made his own protest. He went to Taskim, and just started staring at the picture of Ataturk. First being alone for several hours, a few people started to join him, and now dozens and dozens have. Which actually leads me back to this poster because some people, including a certain PM named Erdogan, seem to at various points of delusion still think this is about Gezi park.

There are unsurprisingly children in the Divan Hotel as the Istanbul police keep teargassing it to try to flush out protesters. How fucking dense is Erdogan and company where first yesterday they appear to think this still actually about the park, and then today attack a luxury hotel where protesters had their infirmary, where foreign tourists are gathered with their kids, and where the media is already concentrated, and then think nothing will go wrong.

Yeah well stuff went wrong, crowds are apparently marching down avenues all around Istanbul en masse back towards Taskim.
