Harry and Edward Cullen. My OTP. "Call the cops, I'll kill them Too!"
“Call the cops, I’ll kill them too!” The boy was breathing hard, and had a stick of wood clenched in his fist. Most normal people might have taken him up on that dare. It was what one did, after all, especially if you had killed in a man in very clear self-defense. Edward, though, had operated for multiple decades with the idea that any sort of human authority was to be avoided. They tended to ask questions, and when you weren’t human, those questions got awkward really quickly.
Of course, most normal people would have dismissed the flash of light that came from that stick and written off the way the boy’s assailant had dropped when it hit him as a trick of the light. Edward figured a world that had vampires probably had other things as well. Best thing to do was take him home, ask Carlisle about it.
He also smelled really good.
Edward stepped around the body, taking care to move slowly. He held his hands out as if to show he wasn’t armed. “Do you really want me to call the police?” he asked.
The boy’s lashes flickered. Well, young man’s. Now that he was closer, Edward could see this was no child. His face had taken on the planes and shadows of manhood long ago, and while age hadn’t lined his forehead yet, knowledge darkened his eyes. That all made the scent in the air harder to ignore. To want to devour a child was one thing, easily enough pushed away. A child he’d found standing over a dead body he could bring back to Carlisle, let the older man sort it all out. A man smelling like that was a whole other problem.
There were more than one way to devour a person.
“I’m Edward Cullen,” he said. “Do you want some help?”
The man lowered his stick and shuddered. “I’m Harry,” he said. “What do you have?”
“Everything you need,” Edward said. Then, again, “Everything you need.”
