some things about Caine in The Amazing Sea Show au so Caine doesn’t seem bad like the story makes you think.

he is a good fish don’t worry. He quickly gets along with others well. Just need space and therapy lol

Trying not to separate Caine from canon too much. He still is goofy and silly. He is having trust issues with humans from witnessing his parents death as a tiny baby. Caine is documented by marine biologist as a merfolk in this au. They wrote him as a creature that is violent and aggressive. But they overlooked his psychology. He is the last of his species and if he dies his species goes extinct and he knows that. And that living crisis takes a toll on him realizing how alone he truly is.

where AI Caine suffers from being alone. Struggling to please everyone in the circus to be his friend. He views humans as a gift but struggling to understand them.

the mermaid Au Caine suffers to have someone close to him but there’s no one left. No family. No mate. Nothing. He views humans as a threat and is tired of being hurt.

Both Caine’s are still the same. But mer! Caine has a different view. He doesn’t hate humans. Christine (aka Pomni) Showed so much of humans having good in them. But he can’t bring himself to forgive them. He is bitter with Christine. But over time he becomes her best friend and sees her more than a friend. But a mate.

so in conclusion. Caine can’t forgive humans. He doesn’t hate all humans. But he needs time and space. He needs a lot of therapy from Christine and trust in her.

if Caine doesn’t get enough time. He goes into a spiral and attacks and drowns people out of instinct
