i've been tagged by @nougatbit to share 9 movies i have watched for the first time in 2023. so here we go.

the top three were for a course on japanese culture as shown in films, the middle three were watched with my family and the bottom three with my partner.

I want to watch more movies this year. We'll see how that goes.

So we are playing the LMoP right now and we found Iarno and defeated most of the Redbrands and when we found Iarno we were interrogating him and after that we just threw away our plan to bring him to Sildar and went with him instead. He told us he wanted to get something from somewhere a couple of days south of Phandalin and we were like okay cool we are coming with you. This cannot go well and i have a really bad feeling about this because we still took his staff and i think someone stole his clothes and gave him different ones (to impersonate him in front of the Redbrands). He is probably going to kill us after we all rested. Or maybe he waits until we helped him get to his destination safe and kill us there.

Best thing is while we were taking him through the town to get some things we had him chained and he was sending electroshocks into us while we held him like an eel. And My character Trym (halfling swarmkeeper ranger) was undermining the authority he tried to impose by challenging what he told us and telling him what to do. Which is hilarious since our Iarno got turned into a sort of half dragon/lizard person due to failed spells and alchemy and he is super big now like more than 2m tall. And Trym is like 90cm so this tiny halfling is constantly challenging the huge lizard wizard who sends electro shocks but gets swarmed by bees every now and then.

I just saw #Johnnydepp trending and wondered what happened again.

I am still not really behind but that's not what I wanted to talk about. I know I have been realigning/queuing contradictory posts about this whole Depp as Grindelwald, Depp as an abuser topic so I wanted to state my opinion on it now. You might need to read until the end.

When I heard he was going to be in fantastic beasts 1 I was so happy. He was always one of my favourites. You can guess how disappointed I was after I saw it. I haven't heard of the accusations at this point. But seeing Colin transform into Johnny as an ugly and not at all Grindelwald was just not what I expected. Until now I can't defend J.K.s decision. And the filming of that particular scene. But I hope Depp's gonna bring the life to Grindelwald he always brought to his roles. Than it could be very nice (of course there are other actors. Not so famous ones. But she chose him. Casting is not always what we want it to be) btw I am not a fan of j.k. I love harry potter. I love the world she created. But I don't like that she claims herself to be so nice and for minorities and everything. That's just not true. And she should have given some credit for her ideas to Pratchett. But that's a whole other story and nothing for this post.

however that's the reason for all these anti-Depp posts on my blog. It's only been about the fandom. By that point.

Then I heard of the story with Amber Heard. I saw the videos. There was actually some kind of documentation on TV here. At first I was shocked. Then I believed Amber. Then I heard of his former girlfriends defending him. And I believed him.

This doesn't really matter at all. The end of this short story is that I came to the conclusion that we just can't know what is true. We don't know what happened between them. Only they do. We don't have the right to judge any of them. Not him as an abuser and not her as a liar or attention seeker.

WE JUST DON'T KNOW

That has absolutely nothing to do with me liking him. Not. At. All. Some posts I read said we believe victims depending on who the abuser was. For some that might be true. For me not. I am not ahead with every accusation or every Hollywood actor/director whatever. I really don't care that much about Hollywood. But I know what I think. I liked Depp. But I liked Kevin Spacey as well. And whereas he might be guilty I don't wanna say this about Depp.

We on this website tend to see it in two shades. But life isn't always black or white. There is an area in between. And maybe we should stop taking action on things we just don't know.

Of course abuse is bad. Of course we should stand up for victims and most of all believe them. But if we blindly believed everybody who said they were abused by somebody it would be quite easy to just say that to ruin somebody else's life.

We shouldn't try to force social justice if we don't have enough information. I am not only speaking about evidence.

But where is your innocent until proven guilty now?

Where is the social justice for those falsely blamed?

I don't wanna say every accusation is wrong. But not every single one must be true as well. And I think this is something forgotten quite often.

I miss playing dnd so much. It's almost half a year ago jow since i last played cuz i was a bit stressed with my new job and i didn't have the energy to convince everybody to meet and play.

I feel like neither my partner nor my sister where that into it. But damn i miss it.

Is it a general ereader thing that the screen breaks so easily or is pocketbook just bad?
