The plundering of an escapade so perfectly planned on paper was more than just disappointing... Gara was furious. Things could have easily gone his way if Gaen Kyouya would have just kept his lap dog on a leash elsewhere! Now he would have to start all over from the drawing board.... a complete waste of a dosage of poison too! God, he was so pissed off... but he’d get back at him one way or another, that was guaranteed. After all, Gara wouldn’t cease until he had his way.. until he felt good about the fall of those who had dared to look down upon his magnificent research.
“Ugh, dammit... it hurts...!”
But as he stumbled through the streets, bruised and limping a tad--just short of calling his Buddy to bring him home--like the light cascading down on heaven, did Gara’s angel appear under a street light.
Oh.
... Ohh.
No, you know what...
I want to feel better now.
“Tasuku-chan...! I’m so glad... to see you...”
And you get to be the one to do it, Ryuenji Tasuku....
@tasupani No matter what climate, temperature, or time of day, Noboru wouldn't be caught dead without his most favorite snack. It was a wonder he didn't gain a pound, considering how often he munched on his beloved Caplico. Chocolate was his absolute favorite despite the many, many other flavors around.... And today was the first day in weeks he could finally get his hands on some! Being without money was an ultimate drag, but at the very least he could sucker one of his other friends into loaning him a bit of cash. Callie also worked at a sweet shop and always offered to hand over sweets, however, he felt bad asking her for things. A knock on the door to Aichi's mansion in Sector oo6 as he slowly chewed away, coming to pester his two favorite people in the world.
Drip..... drop.
Drip........ drop.
In the back of Kakeru’s conscious, did he hear the faint sound of water falling from the tap, pitter-pattering down into the ceramic bowl of the sink below it and into the drain. But the room Tasuku had provided for him had no sink or tap of which to speak of... Strange, he didn’t remember his mattress being this hard either--
“.....? Where...?”
He found himself laying on the cold floor, presumably, of his clinic, spine completely aching and stiff as he lifted his head from the dusted hardwood. From the amount of light filtering in through the curtains, it was most likely dawn, or early morning at the latest. But as he lifted a hand to rub at his sleep laden eyes, did he finally see the instances of dried crimson sticking onto his palms.
“....B-blood--?!”
Reeling back from the sight with a sharp whimper, Kakeru knocked his head against the nearest piece of furniture, knocking his glasses off and forming a fresh bump on his head. Scrambling to grab his specs, did he no sooner notice that his pure white lab coat was covered in dirt and blood as well...
No... No!?
What is this? What happened while I was asleep?!
I... I can’t remember...?!
Gara?! Gara, what did you do?!
But much to his own chagrin, there was no response, Kakeru left stupored and frightened at the endless possibilities of which Gara could have done while he was unconscious...
“U-uungh...”
Shakenly, he got to his feet, stumbling over to the dripping sink in attempt to wash himself clean.
First Sora-kun and now this...?
Pressed with his back against the wall, Jack found himself under careful scrutiny by the enigmatic Zodiac, who had suddenly leaned in very close. It tilted its “head” every which way as if trying to get a better picture of Jack--though Jack honestly couldn’t tell, Zodiac had no eyes after all, and he was wary of how dangerously close its horn came to tearing his suit.
“This isn’t a Buddyfight right now, so you’d best be--”
But whether Zodiac processed the words or not, Jack would never know. It reached up with its claws to paw at Jack curiously. Said claws were quite sharp, and though the action was innocent enough, Jack had to slide out of the way before they tore through his clothes.
“What do you think you’re doing! That’s enough!”
...And somehow, Zodiac apparently interpreted Jack’s frantic attempts at escape as playfulness, the scene devolved into a game of cat-and-mouse, with Jack having to vault over very pieces of furniture to prevent himself from getting pinned under Zodiac’s claws.
Uh-oh, he’s here too! I can’t believe this! The first instinct was to just bolt, to run around the corner and hide somewhere, and hope that he didn’t find her. Of all people to run into, in this strange and bizarre phenomenon, was Ryuuenji Tasuku the Buddy Police.
This was no luck she’d ever want to deal with, this was for certain. Running would give everything away, leading him into insight that she was a part of something major, and she didn’t wish to give herself away. Terumi was sure Tasuku wasn’t aware of her stance in Kyouya’s plans, after all.
“S-so... i-it’s the Buddy Police, Ryuuenji Tasuku!” With her hands behind her back, she sported the biggest smile she could muster, even if her nervousness was making her tremble in her shoes. “What a wonder to find you in such a place like this...!”
In your fitful and struggling sleep, you are then awakened by the summons of the three headed eldritch beast, Azi-Dahaka; informing you of the procession of its master’s events, you are forced to shake off your weariness and make way to the arena...
Your footsteps feel heavier than usual, the prolonged exposure to Reverse and Void’s domain taking a toll on your mental and physical state.
Arriving on stage, there, the solemn figure that was once Gaen Kyouya towers over you from the podium above, greeting you once more with a smile, that uneasy, malevolent glint still evident in those dulled crimson optics.
“Good morning, participants. I hope you were able to rest up.. Round 2 will now commence as follows..”
As Void spoke, still leaning heavily against its weapon for support--Kyouya’s body was looking worse by the day, not having rest or a single meal decaying him from the inside out.
“Allow me to give to you the brackets for today’s segment.”
And just like before, a large slate of darkness appeared with the gesture of Void’s arm, glowing letters burning themselves into the shadows and revealing to them the order in which chaos would ensue today.
Round 2.
Ryuenji Tasuku VS Aragami Rouga
[???] VS Shiunin Sora
Sensing mild confusion, Void cut through the silence, trying to hold back a chuckle in mirth.
“Allow me to elaborate: Shiunin Sora will be fighting whomever comes out the victor of the first match.. And after the latter, the final match will proceed once only one fighter remains..
“Now then, entertain me. Show me just who is the most powerful and worthy of facing me and changing the fate of the world as we know it! Who will be the one to help bring this world and everything in it to nothingness?!
“COMMENCE!”
