hi! so. yay hip. yay pwhl. 2 good things and in theory i like the combo.

unfortunately the merch... not a fan lmao. the design just isn't very interesting and i would rather have separate hip and pwhl merch that each look better to me.

fun thing: on the broadcast they showed a tiny clip of the hip performing in 2002 after the canadian women's team won gold and the team was on stage. here is the whole video! i think there was at least 1 classic gord1 banana shaker (see the gord downie banana thread for context) involved which is huge news to me (person who has spent at least 3 hours wayback machine searching old fansites to source gord1 banana shaker pics

okay i have to just answer this now, because if i spend any more time trying to get my thoughts together i’m just gonna keep procrastinating posting lmao

basically, what it comes down to is that we’ve seen hints of dean being bi throughout more than just his scenes with cas, and just fits with his character?

it’s probably easier to miss/forget if you’re only familiar through fandom osmosis, but there’s a lot more reasons for thinking dean is bi than just his scenes with cas. from his crush on dr. sexy to his “gay thing” with aaron in season 8 (i’m real mad this meta is lost to the ether) to dean looking at the soldier and everything else from this gifset to plenty more i couldn’t easily find in my #painfully+heterosexual tag, it just makes sense if dean is bi.

i also dug up this meta i’ve been talking about since 1518, which talks about how specifically this scenario of unrequited destiel from cas’s side would suck. *dean* has been the major queerbait of the show, and by ending it without any confirmation of deancas or his queerness specifically just solidifies that.

i love destiel and 100% think it deserved to be canon in a much more definitive way than it was, but dean the repressed bisexual who had to live under his father’s demanding orders and grow up to fast to become a parental figure to his brother and seemed distinctly overcompensating with his sexuality? i wanted the catharsis of seeing him living his truth as a bi man. but i didn’t get it
