The blind devotion Lovett always showed to Todd in his white whale that is his revenge on Judge Turpin really does, in some ways, remind me of how Mint is devoted to Astarion in his own white whale, Cazador. Though both situations and couples are not the same (Minstarion being far more healthy and Lovett and Todd more toxic and manipulative), they show two women with the belief in their love and devotion to help them reach their goals. They are both a bit quirky around the edges with years spent under someone else’s thumb taking whatever chance leads them to some hope of love (however warped it is in Lovett’s eyes). I see them in each other.

Oddly enough, Mint’s adoptive parents in her backstory who serve as the villains of her life were inspired by Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett. If anyone is curious of Mint’s lore, I’d love to specify at some point with a piece or something. But it is quite odd to see Mint and Astarion in that position (but they look great and it’s a fave, I cannot NOT).
