...hiding money offshore
Hey if it's good enough for HERMIONE to hoard her cash in Panama , surely it's good enough for everyone? Right? Wrong. Look, I'm not going to hate on Emma Watson for dodging her tax obligations with offshore holdings, it's practically required for rich people and one of the hazards of being a young person who is suddenly worth a lot of money is being the target of 'advisors' keen to get their cut. But MALCOLM TURNBULL dodging his tax obligations is another thing entirely. The media are quick to say "there's no suggestion of any wrongdoing" - their lawyers no doubt reminding them that it is currently legal to hide money. But that doesn't make it right. Australia would have sufficient revenue to to pay for schools, hospitals, infrastructure, services for the aged and the disabled, job creation programs, decent internet and all the other nice things Malcolm is telling us we can't have if only we made rich people and corporations pay their share. Every time you hear him and his ministers tells you about the 'necessity' of cuts, and the need to 'live within our means', remember that it's only necessary because people like him have spent their careers helping rich people avoid their obligations, so now minimum wage earners pay more in tax than hundred of corporations. We're not broke, we've been robbed and Turnbull is one of the thieves.
