Taxidermists are a Massachusetts based duo that met back in 2007 through MySpace. Since then, they've become music lifers, making music together and with other bands. One of Taxidermists releases was via the esteemed Feeding Tube Records. Recently, they have released their music through Danger Collective Records. This Los Angeles label has been featured many times throughout the years. Going back through the blog, I saw their amazing compilation "Save The Smell".

As a guitar drum duo, Taxidermists bring to mind other similarly constituted bands, Buick, Japandroids or No Age. But this is decidedly lo-fi and the songs take unexpected melodic turns. Musically, they're kind of hard to pin down, but the length and poppiness of some songs recall Guided By Voices. Sometimes, the voice and music remind me of The Who.
