oh my gosh tayloki I suck at these they stress me out oh my gosh too much responsibility but here goes
Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just ones that have touched you. Tag ten friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them!
1. Harry Potter - I mean come on my entire childhood was this series - I have so many childhood memories of it
2. His Dark Materials - First series that inspired me to make fic in my head, which was kind of a landmark.
3. The Abhorsen Trilogy - scared me half to death, but I loved these dearly. Rather darker than anything I'd read previously, I think.
4. Journey to the River Sea - this may well have been where I got my chronic travel bug.
5. The Book Theif - Ouch my heart this and HDM are the two books that have made me cry the most, I think. I read a whole lot of WWII-era books in middle school, but of course this one is from such a different perspective (as it lacks the sheer horror of concentration camps, I was able to go back and think of it a lot I guess ? )
6. Percy Jackson and the Olympians - I had literally the biggest crush on Percy in the 5th grade. Also, I got back into Greek (and later Roman) mythology through these, which was cool.
7. Wolf Brother - This and PJO were the books I followed religiously through middle school.
8. Good Omens - I had to sneak-read this one. My parents didn't think it was appropriate at age eleven.
9. Watership Down - oops I promise I'm not copying Taylor but good good good book. (also rly so much less bunny blood than the movie that was scarring)
10. Peter Pan - This one, oh my gosh, I wanted so badly for so long for Peter to come and take me to neverland. Growing up is terrifying, and I was utterly charmed by this book.
I have more, lorde - I could probably go on literally forever. I didn't even touch on high school, oops. But lower/middle school were very formative I guess ? uhhh
